Overall Experience

To say the least, William & Mary students have a strong affection for their school. They love the sense of history, the size, the faculty, and their fellow students. You hardly ever hear anyone expressing regret for choosing William & Mary. Alumni come back year after year, wishing that they could spend four more years at the place they love all over again. Williamsburg may not be the most bustling hub of city activity, but the students form their own community that cannot be beat.

W&M is definitely academically challenging, but students know all of the hard work is going to add up to a quality education. Most students agree that William & Mary is as close to perfect as they could hope for.

I personally love the school. Sometimes I wonder if I should have gone to a bigger school (like UVA), but I feel like at W&M, I make more of a difference in the community. I think I stand out more as an individual. I have great relationships with most of my professors and find that that helps a lot academically. I’ve made a lot of great, quality friends that I wouldn’t give up for anything. This school is really what you make of it. It doesn’t mold you like other schools do—it helps you mold yourself and allows you to grow as an individual.

People came here to learn and get a great shot at it, but they’re also here to live and have a good time. It’s impossible not to make friends, and as long as you don’t mind working your butt off to get a good education, you’ll like it.

I have loved my experience here so far. I couldn’t imagine having a much better time at college. Although it is very academically challenging here, there are many social opportunities. With so much to offer, I think that anyone would be able to find their own niche at William & Mary.

I’m very happy with my school. The only thing I’d do differently is get involved in more activities. There are so many organizations on campus to participate in, you should definitely look around for what interests you and join in. I don’t think I would have fit in anywhere else.
