For the most part, William & Mary is a drug-free campus, though like in any typical party scene, drugs tend to creep their way into some festivities. Most of the time, marijuana is the only drug used, though ecstasy is making an entrance into certain aspects of social life, if students attend house music or rave concerts in nearby venues. 

Mostly, drinking is the choice pastime, and any harder drug use is kept "underground" or on the "downlow."

Relatively Drug Free

In the vast majority of circles at William and Mary, you'll find no drugs. Alcohol is much more popular though if you really wanted to find them, I'm sure you could. If people are doing drugs, it's smoking.

Drinking Is Very Popular

William and Mary is in a small town with the only main attraction being Colonial Williamsburg. There aren't any bars around nor are there clubs. Everything closes around 9 or 10... so we have nothing else better to do than drink! There is a handful of the population that partakes in the occasional marijuana session and lots of people take Adderall. But other than that, there is no real drug scene on campus. At that I know of.

Drinking Is Most Popular

I don't partake in any of the activities but drinking is the most popular. There are people who do drugs but they are actually few and far between and I haven't met anyone who is a chronic drug user. There isn't any peer pressure to do something but policy enforcement can be harsh if you're caught.
