Williamsburg is not only synonymous with cobblestones and colonialism, but rainy weather and general mugginess. The weather can be hard to predict at times, considering it can go from being sunny one minute to a virtual rainforest the next, so always have an umbrella, sturdy rain boots, and rain jacket handy.

It's muggy and humid year-round, as well, which makes the summers exponentially hotter and stickier. Still, W&M has its share of sunny days that can be spent on Jamestown Beach or on the campus terrace.

Mild With Some Rain

Most of the time the weather is mild, with relatively warm winters. It seems to rain at least once or twice a week. However, classes are pretty close to the dorms so traveling in such weather is not a problem.

To go here, you definitely need to invest in a pair of rain boots, because you'll need them. When it's not raining, the weather is actually very nice.

Rain, Sun, Sun, Rain, Rain

I'm from the cold north so I love that it doesn't get terribly cold here (50s are considered cold enough for puffy coats). It tends to rain a lot in the fall, but when it's sunny it's absolutely lovely. Virginia weather is crazy though, it changes 4 or 5 times a day
