Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

With Wooster’s growing enrollment rates, the College has recently increased the dining options on campus, much to students’ delight. Kittredge Dining Hall reopened as an all-vegetarian cafeteria, after it was closed for a year to save money. Kittredge offers creative, healthy dishes with a home-cooked feel and gives students a place to go when they get tired of the main dining hall in Lowry Center. To cut down on lines at the cafeterias, Wooster also added two grab-and-go lunch places: Pop’s Sub-Stop and the Scot Dogs cart. These are great options for students who don’t have time to sit down for lunch and can’t stand in line to get a to-go box of food at Lowry or Kittredge Dining Hall. Students aren’t thrilled with the selection of food at Wooster, but most say that you’ll be fine as long as you get creative at the cafeteria. There are many options for you to mix things up by making your own meals in the cafeteria at the salad bar, pasta bar, deli, pizza station, or stir-fry station. Also, much of the produce is organic and locally grown, so you know that you’re eating good quality food.

You should also remember that at Wooster, the dining halls aren’t the only place at which you can eat. Flex dollars allow you just that—flexibility! You can grab a sandwich or salad at Old Main Café in between classes, or stop at Mom’s on your way to the library for a smoothie. MacLeod’s even has a few basic cooking supplies so that you can take advantage of the kitchens in your residence halls.

Good! and Easy!

The main dining hall, Lowry, is buffet style, all you can eat. One swipe gets you in and you have tons of options, both buffet style and made when you order. There's pizza, a basics station, a vegetarian station, and international station, a deli, a grill, a pasta station, a station that serves eggs to order all day and stir fry for dinner, a salad bar, a fruit bar, and a section for gluten free and lactose intolerant students. Another lunch option is all local, organic, vegetarian, environmentally friendly foods and takes swipes. Then there's a restaurant that serves hamburgers and the like, and takes flex dollars, a sub stop which takes both, and a cafe in the main academic building for flex!

Campus Dining

There are only two dining halls at Wooster and one of them (Kitt) is only opened for lunch, which is the healthy option. Lowry tends to be pretty repetitive and not very healthy. There's only so much you can have that is both healthy and tasty.

Also, if you tend to eat meals after lunch hours, there's barely anything that's served.

Better Than Most

Even if we complain, as is inevitable for college students, the food in Lowry is better than most colleges. Visiting friends will definitely attest to this.
