Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Parking isn’t considered to be a huge problem on campus for students. When you sign up for a parking permit, you are either assigned to North student parking or South student parking, which Security & Protective Services tries to assign depending on where you live on campus. So, even though you’re unlikely to find a parking spot right outside of your dorm, you won’t have to walk more than a block or two to get to your car.

You do have to be careful that you park in the correct lots and that you are not accidentally in a staff or handicapped spot. Security & Protective Services patrols campus and will give out parking tickets to anyone who is illegally parked. Some of the tickets can cost as much as you pay for a semester parking pass!

Parking Sucks

you can usually find a spot, but student parking as always much farther away, even from your dorm, than staff parking. For what I pay to go to this school I shouldn't have to walk so far to get to my car. Security will ticket you for parking in the staff lot even on weekends when the staff isn't there.

Getting a Parking Permit

Parking passes are sold at Wooster on a first-come, first-served basis. Because permits are limited to the number of spaces on campus, students have to be quick if they want to reserve a permit. At the end of each spring semester, permits are sold at Security & Protective Services.

Did You Know? Students can appeal parking violations through the Parking Appeal Review Committee (PARC). The appeal must be filed by reporting to the Security & Protective Services office within five business days of the citation being issued.
