College Prowler Take
Colorado is rumored to be the sunniest of the 50 states. Throughout the year, even in the dead of winter, the days are warmed by a bright sun in a nearly cloudless blue sky. The fall months of the first semester might as well be summertime as far as the students are concerned. As long as there’s a bit of sun shining through the clouds, the Quad is always full of solar-powered Frisbee players and studiers. From August through October, the temperatures are warm enough for hiking and mountain biking, as well as any number of other diversions from studying. Of course, Colorado isn’t famous for its fall—although the autumn colors do rival the famous New England panoramas. No, Colorado is known worldwide for its winters—mild temperatures on the plains and long, powder-choked months in the mountains make for some of the best skiing in North America. Campus empties out on weekends as students make their way to Vail, Breckenridge, Steamboat, and other world-renowned resorts within hours of Colorado Springs. Those that remain on campus usually enjoy mild days or, failing that, a pristine, winter wonderland perfect for snowball fights and sledding. Come March, students leap right back into their old outdoor habits, opting for outdoor study sessions after being cooped up in dorm rooms and lounges for the winter. Prospective students and other campus visitors have often noted that CC students have a healthy glow about them. There’s no doubt that this natural luminescence is the direct result of Colorado’s sunny weather and the active lifestyle that it allows.

Sunny
A+
The weather here is amazing. It is almost always sunny and beautiful. We rarely get the large amounts of snow that are seen in Denver. The weather is best in the Fall and Spring when it's a comfortable 60-70 degrees and sunny at all times.

Don't Be Fooled: Being in Colorado Does Not Mean It's Cold or Snowy
A
Colorado Springs is one of the sunniest cities in the country, which means that during your long afternoons (unless you're in a lab class) the quad is an awesome place to slackline, nap, play frisbee or listen to music. (Let's be real, no matter how good your intentions are, your reading probably won't get done outside.) I find it a little disappointing that the snow doesn't stick around, but generally, the weather is perfect and beautiful and there's nothing to complain about.

It's Colorado, of Course It Snows, but It's Beautiful
A
If you don't like the cold or snow, this isn't the place for you, but it isn't stereotypical—snowing all the time—either. There are plenty of warm days, and even when it's snowing it's mostly sunny. Plus, we're right in the foothills of the Rockies, and they're absolutely gorgeous after a fresh-fallen snow.
