Colorado Northwestern Community College has an amazing school with fantastic faculty and staff, but they need to not be afraid to grow.

they are very different than a class room that is for sure. You can not see your teacher you only hear the teacher and see what is being said on a white board. You can not talk to the teacher at the same time the teacher is talking to stop them and ask question in case you may not understand something. The homework is given all at once to be done in one week and sometimes with other classes that is a rush. Otherwise the aspect of being at home and not going anywhere to take the class is a nice thing but if you have question you can't get in touch with the teacher as easily.

We have a diverse student body. There are people from various walks of life not to mention different ethnic backgrounds. I am sure we all have some varied belief in religion but it is not dicussed much in the classes i am taking. Everyone seems to accept each other comfortably and not shy away from anyone. We all seem to get along for the most part.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Poor Communication – The college financial aid person is limited to one person and since she is very busy her response time is very slow. This held back several payments etc.

Online and on My Time – I love the fact that when you have time you can sit and do your course work. if something pops up at the last minute, for me which is usually work related, then i do not have to miss classes.

Dental Hygiene – CNCC has not only a flight school but also is one of the only three campuses in Colorado to have a Dental Hygiene program.

I love the dorms and the fact that you can get your own bathrooms. The layout is also very nice and everything is very central.

LOVE RANGELY! I love the dental hygiene clinic. It is so modern and new! The whole campus feels like everyone is one big family and the professors and staff want everyone to succeed. I love the vibe and the small town atmosphere.

Good If You Can Self Study – Was a good course, if you are able to teach yourself and have the motivation.

My High School Experience – My high school was an OK school. I surely wasn't the best, but it was the worst either. It gave me the opportunities I've wanted and now I'm a senior in high school. I am proud to say John Mall High School was the school I went to. I made tons of friends, and tons of memories. I am happy with my school experience.

The School! The school is very small, therefore you might end up almost knowing everybody in the school!

Wireless Access, and Network Reliability and Speed – wireless access is great. i can get wireless access almost anywhere. But network speed is often low because alot of people play online video games and that makes it slow when alot of people are on. It is reliable, but often kinda slow.

The Inside Scoop – My school is very unique because of where it is located, in Rangely, CO it is a very small town which I personally am not that fond of. The academics at school are very good I have teachers that really know me and care about me. For campus and social life there is not much to do but we sometimes have dances that are always fun when we have them. Some unique opportunities would be our Outdoor Recreation Program, they take many trips throughout the year.

I'm currently enrolled as a continuing student, since the Rangely campus does not have the program that I'm interested is, so I just taking some small classes, until the fall semester. I'm in the weight training class for now, but the weight room definitely needs a major make over with new equipment, and a bigger weight room, the weightroom and the weights they have right were probably the ones that came with the campus when it opened.
Someone definitely needs to improve the student activities, I enjoy watching the college basketball games, but less than 30 residents show up for the games and we have well over 10,000 residents that live here in Rangely and our college atheletes need as much support as they can to keep them motivate.

School Experience – My school experiences at CNCC was good, not great, because if going through the Aviation Program, you cannot be involved in sports activites and it was a full time 2-year program. I only experience the frustration of all the classroom lectures, most of the time I had no idea what the instructor was talking about, and her I sit wondering why I'm learning about how the wind affects the wings on an airplane or troubleshooting electrical function, when we as the maintenance person are not allowed to perform or fix anything electrically. I was also looking forward to the Aircraft welding, but through out this course, our instructor was always absent, all we did was watch welding videos.
The transferring of credits is very easy, you can either do it in person or just go online, and them transferred.

Avaition Maintenance Program Experience 1998-2001 – Since, the Craig CNCC Campus is the only one with the Automotive and Electrical Program and which I plan to attend this coming fall semester. But I would like to share with you my experiences of going through the Aviation Maintenance Program, when I first decided to challenage myself, by making the decision of going back to school, and the only program that was of interested to me was the Aviation Program, it was the challenage I was looking, and to my surprise I really did very good, made on the Dean's List for the summer of 2000, and received my AAS Degree in May of 2001.
At the beginning of the program it was was interesting, I was really looking forward to the hands on training, which is plus for me, because I learn more working hands on. But 2 to 3 months into the program, it was getting boring, I realize it wasn't just me, everyone was getting tired of the classroom lectures, so we starting complaining, and it worked soon afterwards our instructors start giving us more hands on projects, and less lectures.
But unfortunately I did not fully intend to make working in the airplance industry as a career, it was more or less a challenage that I took upon myself to find out how well I would do, since I graduated from High School in 1980.
So as of today, I mostly definitely want to continue my education, I have one degree, and I was going for my second on in the Automotive Program, but attended only one year, couldn't finish my last year, due to lack of funding to help me the living expenses, since I don't have any financial support from families, friends, or relatives.
Now I want to go back and refresh myself in the Automotive Program, once I complet that program, I want to get my certification as an Electrician and Welder, so I'm looking at another 3-5 years of continuing my education, in hopes that will that training, skills, experience, and knowledge that I receive from education, it will definitely help me get more chances and better employment opportunties in the future.
I give myself a B+, because I manage to stay above the a GPA of 2.50 or better.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
