Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Don’t bring a car. There is no parking on campus, and local garages are very expensive. Those used to owning a car might find the inability to drive to be off-putting, but after a while, it is a blessing. There is very little street parking near campus, so those who do drive to school often have to park upwards of 20 blocks away.

It is not worth the heartache or expense to bring a car to Columbia. Bringing a car is like taking your mom on a first date. It’s a nice idea, but the reality could be disastrous. When you need a car fix, take a cab or go to your friend’s house in New Jersey for the weekend.

Parking

there isn't a designated parking lot for students or faculty, therefore being located in NYC, across from a major hospital makes finding parking a nightmare. Aside from this problem there are also many areas where parking is strictly with parking meters.

No Parking

The school offers parking optins, but your best bet is to take the subway. It is most conveinenant and you will never have to drive in NY.
