Advice on Financial Aid
The financial aid process at Columbia is comparable to many other private colleges. After the initial submission of necessary documents, the process is essentially out of a student's hands until the award has been granted. The appeals process is likely painful and drawn-out, but Columbia is generally good about granting a sufficient amount of funding. Additionally, Columbia has eliminated loans from their financial aid packages, meaning less of a financial burden upon graduation for many students.
