  1. The sometimes sluggish bureaucracy
  2. Cost of education and cost of living
  3. The eternal dilemma - studying or doing something cool and interesting in NYC
  4. Cramped housing
  5. The time it takes to settle into your niche
  6. Lerner Hall - the ugliest, most useful building on campus
  7. The fact that it’s not as well located as NYU
  8. Never being able to get a seat in Butler library
  9. The very slow and disorganized mail system and package rooms
  10. Coming home to your high school friends who haven't had nearly as interesting a year as you have

This Is Columbia. If You Don't Know Already, You Should.

Basically, the teams suck, but the school keeps hope alive. To an embarrassing degree. If you were never a huge school-sports person, you won't mind, but if you crave that culture, Columbia is a land of die-hard fans who really spend all their time dying. Very hard.

Not Really Necessary

I know a couple of people who live off campus but that's literally it...a couple of people out of the 6500+ undergrad that go to Columbia. It's way too much of a hassle to try and find an affordable apartment in NYC -- you might as well just go into housing with everyone else because chances are your friends will be living in your dorm too.
