Close to UCI where there are movies, comedy clubs and to Costa Mesa/Santa Ana where there are top quality plays and concerts. Close to the beach in Newport. However, sports and big name concerts require travel to Anaheim or LA.

Health & Safety:
The nurses on campus are great. They are friendly and very helpful. The security on our campus is good but I feel they could spend a little more time monitoring to campus during the holiday breaks.

For our division and association we have some top-notch athletes and coaches. We recently have moved from NAIA Division 1 to NCAA Division 2. I think CUI will become a much more popular athletic school in the years to come.

The dining hall on campus is pretty good. The only reason for not being an excellent place to eat, is that the food selections become repetitive. It is easy to become sick of the food for this reason.

This is an excellent program. I will become a nurse and Concordia has helped me reach that goal. I am not concerned about finding a job.

The program is an accelerated program so it gets students into the workforce more quickly.

Its a small school with less opportunities than large universities.

The freshman dorm rooms are great. The rooms are set up with two to a room and suitemates that share a bathroom. The room has one living area to the front and one to the back with the closet separating the two thus giving more privacy. The housing process is easy and accomodating. We were able to select our room and suite mates.
The dorms are close to the classrooms and the atmosphere is friendly and safe.

Concordia does not have a Geek system. The sports teams somewhat take on this role.

Guys & Girls:
the boys and girls at Concordia are pretty friendly with each other in the fact that not one gender is put down. the sports teams are pretty close, and I personally have a lot of great guy friends. they are all pretty good looking for the most part and most of the school is middle to upper class. even though you will find some snobby rich people, you will also find some of the chillest, nice people here who are always willing to hang out or help you.

I am a biology major and there are only a handful of bio majors because it is not that big of a school and it is not known for their science program. Although they have great science professors, the biggest major you find a lot of people are into is probably business or theology. my application process was no different then any other major, i just had to enroll into different science classes than say, an English major.

this is a dry campus so you are not allowed to have any alcohol or drugs on campus, if you do get caught then it can result in severe consequences. they do a pretty good job on controlling and enforcing this law by doing random RA checks in the dorms but of course college is known for drinking and smoking and no matter what, it will never be abolished by students.

Health & Safety:
i have never felt unsafe at this school. i like how if you are coming home late at night, you can call campus safety to escort you to your room. there are always nice security guards walking around campus and they are also at school events just. in case.

I wouldn't say it's hard to get into the program that I'm in (Athletic Training). However it is unusual. They make you go through an observational period, where you're taking a class that requires you to do a certain amount of hours in which you watch everything that occurs within the clinic. The purpose is so that students know what they are getting into and so the professors and staff know you can handle it. It's great for freshman just starting out, but sucks for transfer students because it will put you behind and cause you to have to be there longer. The program is three years long, not including the observational year.

I feel like it depends upon what you're doing. Some kids have complained about having trouble with campus security, but I rarely see them around. You're aloud to wander campus at night, seeing as how it's gated. You can come and go as you please, whenever you want, just sometimes need to show your ID card to the guard gate depending on who is working. It's a dry campus now, meaning no alcohol, which totally dampers everyone's social lives. I know some kids still do it on campus anyways. I think that as long as you aren't loud and obnoxious when it's late, then you won't get in trouble.

There's a huge selection of off campus restaurants and fast food places. We're pretty close to UC Irvine, so those places stay open later. There really is every type of place to eat very near by.

We do have quiet a few events, but not all of them are as fun and exciting as they are made out to be. Really the best events were the first couple weeks of school when we had movie nights and ice cream parties. The library is a little small, but it's nice and quiet. There's plenty of outside areas for studying and just hanging out; tons of open grass areas. There are game rooms or hang out rooms in just about every dorm area. Some have tables and chairs, others have couches. There used to be televisions in some.

The places off campus are various and not far to drive to. However the dinning hall is not always good. They tend to repeat the food that they have, thus eating there can get old. A lot of the times they run out of the good food, or when there is something good to eat the lines are ridiculously long. They suck at restocking or refilling things, such as milk and cups. It's a lot of money for the meal plan and I don't think it's worth what you pay. The coffee shop on campus is nice, and has good coffee. There is also another place on campus for eating, but the hours are it's open when the dinning hall is not. In my experience it is never open when it's supposed to be and closes early. They do have good food there though.

There are a lot of places that are close by such as shopping centers with movie theaters and restaurants. The campus is not far from a couple of different beaches. There is also hiking trails within the campus.

My junior year at Concordia I had a class where there were only 3 other students--it was great! You get a more personal relationship with not only your peers but the professor as well. The professors know your name and they try their hardest to get to know get and everyone of their students. The school makes an effort to let the students know that they care and that they are not just a number.

The school is located in Southern California so the weather is great! The weather allows for a lot of out door activities and it feels like a bore if you stay inside your dorm. When winter arrives, it doesn't get too cold and the wet days don't last very long.
College Senior 2013-07-09T02:26:31Z
Most of the facilities in school close really late which allows students more access to them. The library closes at 10pm and depending on the day, the hours are extended. The athletic centers close at 10pm as well and opens early. Campus events/activities are provided regularly so there is always something to do. Students tend to go out to hang out due to the fact that alcohol use it not allowed.
College Senior 2013-07-09T02:22:34Z
Open All Night – There are several computer labs on campus. They all have different closing times, so if one closes the student could easily go on to the other. There is one computer lab open all night, this is a guarantee for students. Printers are also available.

There is an office called the Bursars office, the man in charge of the student financial aid is great. He does a great job working with the student's family to work out a plan that suits them. He helps set up a payment plan, scholarships, work, and even gives options for loans.

As a psychology major a practicum is required for the major. This is very important to do to make sure that this is the field that you want to go in. When I had my internship I had a lot of responsibility working with patients doing paperwork correctly making sure the patients medication was correct. Everything was very educational and the experience helped me confirm that I was in the right field. The only unfortunate part was that it was an unpaid internship. It is a little hard finding internships for undergrad that are paid, but there are plenty of unpaid internships.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
