Concordia is only a few blocks from Grand Avenue, the best street in St. Paul. There are so many shops to visit, from exotic treasures to Irish on Grand, and several little bistros. Not sure about safety, I don't live near St. Paul.

I had a great experience at Concordia. The price is excellent when considering the level of education. The instructors were very knowledgeable and extremely helpful and available. Concordia is a private Lutheran college, but they welcome everyone with a smile. I worked full time while taking classes online fulltime. It was difficult, however the instructors are very supportive. The curriculum is relevant and interesting. Registration is very easy.

The students I attended with were all adult distance learners working full time jobs and going to school full time. I had no interaction with traditional students.

Campus is spread out, but not too much. It's a nice mixture of historic and modern architecture, with all of the modern amenities. There are plenty of places for students to hang out, study, and grab a coffee or snack.

I was part of a mixed cohort, meaning most of my education was through distance learning; however, 3 times during the program our cohort would meet at the school for a weekend. Parking was excellent, directly across the street from compass. Generally it appears most student parking is along the roads around campus, and it can be difficult I imagine for the traditional students to find parking near their classes.

My school has a friendly and welcoming community. The class sizes are small and the professors take the time to get to know each student and help them the best that they can. Concordia puts in the extra effort to make campus a home-away-from-home for its students.

I like that the program has online face to face once a week

Every traditional student gets a laptop and the network is reliable along with it's speed which is pretty good for the kind of traffic it has since this is a small school.

Standard chain restaurants abound. They are fairly reasonably priced and can cater to a variety of dietary needs, including vegetarian and vegan.

Concordia is actually a laptop University so we are given laptops as part of our tuition. Some do have their own laptops that usually don't connect very well with the internet or the printers. There are many printers on campus so it is relatively easy to print. The network can be relatively slow.

The Dining Hall is usually the main place for students to get food although the Union had food during the day (but is now closed) and the Commons Cafe is also a place for students to go. The Dining Hall is getting new renovations and will have a different way for students to get food and the avaliability options are changing as well. They could give a few more food options to make it more interesting instead of fries at almost every meal.

Close to shopping (Target/Walmart), good housing. Lovely hangout areas include "The Knoll," an open grassy wooded place for games and relaxation. Much to be had within walking distance, if one knows where to look.

While there are parking lots available for students, many end up parallel parking along the street. Parking lots are closed frequently and students are constantly forced to move their cars.

A lot of people on campus smoke and/or drink, but they are courteous with their smoke and, if you do not want to partake in it, you will not be judged for it.

The security can be pretty strict. However, their pretty easy to fool. But when you're caught you have about two strikes and you're out. With each of those strikes comes a 100-600 dollar fine.

Transportation is pretty good however it takes awhile to get to the cities which is where everything is so you have to leave hours ahead of time.
College Sophomore 2013-05-14T14:26:29Z
Since Concordia is in St. Paul, we are relatively close to shopping because there is a Target and a Wal Mart within walking distance of campus. It's a great community and many come to support our athletics teams.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
