Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

After a registration fee of $50, all students are allowed to park on campus. There’s good news and bad news, though. The good news is that you’ll always have a spot. The bad news is that, starting out, it’s never going to be where you want it. As a freshman, you’ll be restricted to the athletic complex lot, across the street and downhill from the main campus. Some students don’t mind the trek, but most complain bitterly about it for the whole year. Fortunately, sophomore year sees your car on campus proper, and with each passing year you’ll be able to claim more land as available space. Seniors can park virtually anywhere. And if you have the rare distinction of being a Housefellow, you get your very own reserved space.

North and South lots make up the majority of the common spots, but as their names suggest, they are at the poles of the campus. Hasty students that make the mistake of parking illegally do so at their own risk. Campus Safety officers ticket first and ask questions later. Saving yourself a five-minute walk just isn’t worth the risk.

Don't Bring a Car

The parking facility for students is beyond horrible. There is never enough parking and students usually get fined for parking in the faculty lot, but if there were more spots available for students there wouldn't be this problem.

A Bit Annoying

Not a lot of access but there are options, you might have to walk a little to get to your spot.

Plenty of It, but Not Always Convenient.

There are plenty of places to park a car if you have one on campus. The fees aren't outrageous and because everyone lives on campus, students don't have a crucial need for cars. The areas you can park you car in are not always the most convenient places. For instance, most freshman are assigned to the parking lot by the Athletic Center which is about a ten minute walk from certain parts of campus. And if you fail to park in your assigned lot, you can look forward to a ticket.
