The administration is pretty strict when it comes to the Honor Code policy and underage drinking, which is a good thing in most aspects. For underage drinking, it is usually all parties involved are fined and brought in front of the Civitas court, who give the final consequence. Majority of the consequences match the "crime", but then you have a few that are a little harsher.

The financial aid I received was really helpful for me. I received a scholarship just based on my GPA and SAT/ACT scores, depending on your scores you receive a different amount. The financial aid process was long, but it was not as painful as I was expecting it to be. There was always someone in the Financial Aid Office that I could call and ask questions. The Financial Aid Office is also very helpful in keeping you up to date with when you might need to renew some forms.

The drug scene at Converse College is pretty nonexistent. There is a safe area for the few people who smoke cigarettes to do that. When it comes to alcohol use, there are very strict rules and programs put in place to make sure that there is no underage drinking on campus. The peer pressure to do drugs or drink alcohol is also something you don't encounter on campus.

Guys & Girls:
It's a women's college. Expect to deal with a lot of women. That doesn't mean that you won't see men and you aren't anywhere near others it's just on campus a majority of what you will deal with is other females. The girls are very diverse some Southern belles and some jeans and t-shirt girls. It doesn't really matter here.

As English interested in writing and editing I am in a program that allows me to gain knowledge in both areas as well as knowledge to be an English teacher if I choose too.

Residential students get the best parking. Commuter students must park along way away.

Dexter may be crappy, but the senior apartments sure are sweeeeet.

The wifi on campus is horrible! It is slow and unreliable. The year before I started you were allowed to bring your own internet hook up but now the entire campus is wifi. This spring semester (2013) the wifi was down for probably almost a week and it was the week before finals!

The scholarships for SAT/ACT and overall high school GPA are amazing! I just wish that as the price of tuition went up they would adjust the scholarships!

When it rains, the campus is flooded. If you don't have rain-boots, you better wear a pair of shoes that are OK to get wet and ruined.

I, for one, do not particularly like the food served in Gee, Converse's dining hall. It can be very bland. The only times I eat in Gee is when they are serving hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, and seasoned fries. They always serve pizza, which gets tiring and fattening.

Just when I thought I had lost all hope of going to Converse College, they brought things to my attention that I didn't really notice. I had a very rough first semester due to health issues, family issues, and transportation issues. It was everything I couldn't help, and it's hard on me now because I am having to pay for it, literally. Summer courses (2) cost my family almost $2000. My uncle just passed away two weeks ago, and they are having to take care of the funeral process as well as my schooling. I feel as if I am a disappointment.

Guys & Girls:
Converse College is an all girls school, so there aren't many guys around. You need to take a trip to Wofford for that.

Although there is a variety of fast food chains, other than Sun King and Mr. Gatti's, there really isn't much as far as restaurants go. I prefer Sun King over anything else because the food is good, the price is right, and it's all you can eat. That's the best "bang for your buck" when on a college budget.

Converse is full of so many people of different ethnicities, religions, beliefs, and sexual orientations. Everyone I have come in contact with has been so accepting and open to hearing about what I believe.

I always go to the library to try and find open computers. 90% of the time, there is one open when I walk in, but if not, one is usually available within about 10 minutes. The only problem I usually have is finding computers that print. Every now and then, I will need to print something, but there won't be any open computers that will print.

When it's sunny, I love walking around campus. However, it tends to rain a good bit, and deep puddles build up easily. Rain boots are a must for Converse students!

The science department is very tough, but it is worth it. I feel that I will be prepared for medical school when the time comes.

There isn't that much to do especially if you dont have a car.

Converse is a college in a city where there are other colleges like Wofford, USC Upstate, SMC and Spartanburg Community College so the atmosphere of college students are very present. Sometimes the colleges collaberates on activities together which is cool.

There are computer labs in nearly every building on campus including the dorms. If you need to print, the library is available as well as study rooms in some of the dorms. The internet is pretty good from my room and everywhere else on campus except in Gee Dining Hall. They could improve there internet access. I find it easier to have my own computer and printer but if you don't have either of the two they are available on campus.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
