Our college parking lot was sold to another company.

No Parking Lot – The college has previously decided to sell their parking lot to another company, which left students, faculty and staff to find parking of their own. I am a disabled student attending the college and have received at three parking tickets since the school sold the parking lot. I have paid $100.00 in parking tickets because of this matter. No parking was made available for me or other disabled individuals along the corridors of the college or surrounding area.

The nightlife at Corcoran would be different, being in the Capitol there are chances to go to clubs but also just to hang out at the Mall and go to museums.

Unique Things About My School – The Corcoran School of Art and Design is a wonderful place to get an education. I had always desired to attend there since I was a young child. Never assumed I would actually end up there learning and discovering new things about art and the people who create it.

Dependng upon the time of year, the weather is conducive. However, winter time is the worst because of all the hills in the area of the school.

No Known Restrictions – I have not heard of any restrictions with Corcoran.

It's DC – Being in DC means there is a lot of availability with drugs, it doesn't have much to do with going to Corcoran, mostly just that Corcoran is in DC. Art is definitely the most important thing at Corcoran but drugs are prevalent. It is easy to not get pulled in or feel out of the loop though if you don't do drugs.

Food Everywhere! DC is crawling with restaurants. It takes a while to find the good and reasonably priced ones but once you do you are set. There are a lot of chains like subway, chipotle, and potbelly but they are good for a quick meal. There are a lot of over priced places but those are good for when the parents visit too. Downtown the Starbucks and stuff close way early but once you get used to it it is fine.

Metro for Sure – City transportation to my one-building campus in D.C. is essential. The buses and metrorail trains are used by nearly all students, and they accommodate both students who live 15 minutes away, and an hour away. It does become pricey after a while though, and many students eventually turn to bicycles as a result.

Corcoran's Campus Life – It's great; I felt free. I no loner felt like a children, but i felt like i joined the adult world and once you taste this freedom, there's no going back. Going home to mom, dad or grandma...etc, is not the same. And have a roommate prepares you for real human inter-action, because your now always going to be with a person who is the same as you; they might be a compete oppsite. But that's cool because thats the way life is! "You take the good you take the bad, and thats the facts of life". But for young adults living on campus is the best way to complete your transformation into adulthood,

Corcoran's Campus – The campus in beautiful, I seen it last year and fall head over hills with it. I didnt think a school in DC, could be so lovely. I also visit the art mususms and there were beath taking, there what I wont my art to be like. The art work i seen made me re-think the way i design and draw; helping me become more in tone with my artist side. The people seem very laid back and nice, and i love being around other artist, it's makes my heart beat in overdrive. Like i said the campus is beautiful, very clean as far as i seen, people are great and all and all im in love with the school.

YOu have to find your own parking at the Downtown campus. However, the Georgetown campus has a parking lot that you have to pay for a parking permit.

The Labs Are Great – At the Georgetown Campus, the labs have 38" Macs with up to date Adobe programs. The filespace is slow at times, but gets the job done. You do not need to paper to print. However, at the downtown campus you do. THey are never crowded from what I have observed.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
