Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

With two buffets, Blimpie’s, Davis Diner, Irma’s Bistro, Brew Jay, Billy Blues Alumni Sports Grill, and Java Jay Coffeehouse, you'd think there'd be a lot to love about Creighton’s campus dining. But, according to students, things could be better. Although Creighton’s food provider, Sodexho, uses surveys and other tactics to figure out what students want, it seems a lot of people are still left picking at their plates. Some say the food is too cold. Others feel their options are limited. Many just grow tired of repeating their dining hall routines day after day, until, of course, they move off campus and realize it’s better eating decently cooked cafeteria mac and cheese than cooking a poor version themselves.

The recent renovation of the student center has drastically improved eating there—in place of an old corner convenience store, there’s a snack bar called Jack & Ed’s that serves coffee and candy, and Godfather’s Pizza is a great addition. Most students agree that the choices leave something for almost anyone. One complaint is that while there are choices during the weekdays, several shops are closed on weekends, limiting students to the Brandeis cafeteria. Another problem is simple logistics—limited meal hours of the dining halls and long lines in the student center can be a pain for busy students, but these minor annoyances can easily be overcome with options like meal exchange, in which the dinner meal of the student meal plan can be used at any on-campus Sodexho location. All in all, Creighton offers a lot of choices for a smaller student body size—there are at least enough options to make the pesky Freshman 15 a reality.

Brandeis

Awesome food, only one hall open for dinner, and it somewhat far from either Keweit or Gallagher ( where most freshman stay) however it is possible to walk almost entirley inside to get there

Gets Old Fast

There isn't enough variety. Eating the same kinds of food every day makes it a lot less appetizing. Food quality is also less than good.

Dining Halls

There is not a lot of variety at the dining halls and it often gets old. Great for those that are on a meal plan, but not worth it if you are not on one, or if you are on the flex plan
