| Advice on Finding a Job/Internship | |
If you are worried about finding a job after going to school, don’t feel like you’re on your own. Creighton’s Career Center offers a number of services for its students. Just keep in mind that many students still cite networking as one of the best ways to make connections and find a job. From the moment you walk on campus, get in touch and stay in contact with the Career Center. If you’re interested as an underclassman and definitely as a senior, attend the career fairs (there’s one in the spring and one in the fall). Also, be sure to work closely with your academic advisor and other trusted professors in your major—often, departments have more information and contacts in their fields than the Career Center does. While the best way to find a job after you graduate varies depending on your field, having an undergraduate part-time job or internship in the field, or at a company you’d like to work for later, is a sure way to get your foot in the proverbial door.
