All students may obtain parking permits; however, parking spots are first-come, first-parked, and no one is guaranteed a spot. In the past, there hasn’t been a big problem finding any spot—but a decent spot is a different story altogether. Faculty and students park in different lots, although faculty lots are open to students at night and on weekends.
College Prowler Take
This is a university in a commuter city already so short of parking that the decision to build two new campus parking garages was ingenious, and all the parking problems have recently been resolved. That being said, construction is still taking place on campus, and as you may have heard, there are two seasons for Nebraska drivers: winter and construction. For Creighton, construction seems like a year-round process. This campus changes looks like an aging pop star trying to make a comeback, but things are starting to slow down, and the construction vehicles are starting to leave. But, it’s hardly fair to condemn the University, which is planning to improve things by building new buildings, and the two parking garages have definitely made many commuter students happy. All in all, the school’s current parking issues are well-resolved with the completion of the garages. It is a worthwhile improvement that puts smiles on all the students drivers’ faces for years to come, but, unfortunately, the excuse, “I couldn’t find a place to park” will no longer work.

You can bring a car as a freshman but don't expect to get a spot near your dorm. It seems like most of the parking on campus is reserved for faculty. And the parking permit is quite expensive. It is not uncommon for students to walk about a mile from their parking spot to class.

Parking is fine. Considering the campus is as small as it is, there is definitely adequate parking. Freshmen can bring a car, but there are plenty of other people who will as well, so you can just hitch a ride with them when they make a Target run.

There is plenty of parking on campus, but you may want to allow yourself an extra 5-10 minutes before class to park, just in case it's a little busy.

The two parking structures, which opened in January of 2006, house a total of 1,100 stalls, with 640 located at 24th and Burt and 450 at 20th and Cass. The structures have provided significant relief to our campus’s parking situation.
