For me a single mother the campus resources have been very valuable to me.There are a few different support programs that if you qualify for can help allot especially in the beginning when your getting started. I feel more comfortable now and ready for next semester because I know where to go for help and support.

Being an adult single mother going back to school, I was worried if I would make it. I have found so many programs that offer support for me that I was actually more impressed then I thought I would be. The staff has been very helpful and supportive getting me started and I feel very confident when time comes to register for fall. It was tough at first figuring everything out, but I just kept going back to my student resources and they were very helpful.

I have only done two online courses over the summer and had a great experience with both. The teachers were always replied quickly to any questions I had. The pages were easy to navigate and understand. I was able to work with other students in the class online. It was a faster pace course since it was summer so it was challenging but I finished and did well. I plan to take at least one online class next semester. The convenience for me is great.

Being a full time student and a part time worker, as well as a full time dad, made me need to have a legible class schedule. There were enough morning, afternoon and evening classes spread out across the different subjects of my major that finding a schedule that works wasn't a problem at all.

The computer network is outstanding. The computer lab in the library is very large, with modern, fast computers. The wifi is generally very fast but where most of my classes are in the engineering tech/automotive compound, there is no wifi available. However, the computers in the auto shop are wonderful. Having a computer at home is very very helpful to be able to log in to my classes home pages. Having to walk to the library to do that would be a hassle.

Everything is accessible and attractive. The library and student center is easy to find and up to date. The only thing I wish there was available would be a fitness center/gym for student use outside of the physical education department.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The cost of tuition is very low. The ease of which I was registered and accepted for a BOG waiver made the whole experience very positive. I had previously applied with FAFSA, and since Cuesta is connected with the whole federal financial aid system, it made the process very easy. The classes and quality of schooling is very much worth the low cost of attendance

I am a Nursing students and yes the classes are tough because the instructors are always there to help. they offer reasonable office hours and can allow you to schedule appointments out of office hours. If you em-ail them in the weekends they will reply in the weekend they don't wait until the next class meeting or the next class date.

We have free wireless connection, which is amazing because i can bring my laptop and use the school's internet connection by simply logging in into my school home page. The internet always function and i can also use the wireless connection on my phone wherever my phone doesn't get internet service.

We have small class sizes which makes it easier to help all the students .We get more of a one on one interaction. All of our questions get addressed..

The student center is wonderful because we have many resources. the libraries are well equipped and the staff is very efficient. they have always answered my questions and assisted me with locating books. If i don't know how to use a software they have always helped me learn how to use it.

The online courses are really not that bad. The instructors answers questions in a timely manner and are willing to help you whenever you need the help. They are willing to help and assist with any thing that you need. They listen to the listen to the student and make them feel confident. If you ever disagree with anything you can voice any comments/ suggestions without having to worry about what others have to say. you don't have to worry about being late or commuting. If you are not a speaker you don't have to worry because you don't have to get up ion front of a class and speak or raise your hand to ask questions.

They really need to update the programs they use. At another school I have been to they had much more informative teachers and the programs were much more interactive.

The computer lab is great. It has both windows and macs and even scanners for students to use. There are also computers in the library and near the counciling offices that you can walk up to and use if you are in a hurry ect. However, the wifi is impossible to log in to on alot of smart phone and alot of the school website doesn't work on phones. There is also only one printer and it goes down sometimes.

The facilities are nice. The library and computer labs are very impressive to me. I very much enjoy the buildings and architecture of the school, but some things could be updated.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I have received financial aid, but i guess it doesn't cover books, i hoped it did, that puts me in a bit of a struggle but i think its manageable.

The College Campus is well kept, clean and many people can walk around freely. They recently just finished a new theater for performance. Good Place to hang out instead of going off campus at all, Grass is very green. The Library is a great place to get your work done while your waiting for your next class.

For those who work an 8-5 job, there is a frustratingly small amount of classes available to take. After taking the DE classes I wanted to, I'm not stuck trying to fill my schedule with random classes.

The Cuesta wireless network is always on, and for most students is very easy to access. The speed of the connection isn't super high-speed, but it isn't noticeably slower than most other wireless connections. Having a personal laptop is recommended, but not necessary. There are plenty of other computers available.
College Sophomore 2013-06-06T17:42:01Z
The library at Cuesta is excellent. There are far more desks then are ever in use at one time, and almost every single one has power outlets for computers, tablets, etc. They just finished building a beautiful new performing arts center, with state of the art equipment. Because it is a commuter college, campus activities are somewhat lacking, but that doesn't detract too much from the rest of the school.
College Sophomore 2013-06-06T17:39:23Z
The online courses at Cuesta have been generally very easy to transition into. The instructor usually gives some time (1-2 weeks) at the beginning of the semester to become acquainted with the program, and the workload is not terribly difficult. However, due to the nature of an online course, each student must be very careful in submitting assignments in the proper format, or they risk being marked off.
College Sophomore 2013-06-06T17:22:53Z
Cuesta has some of the best music and sound equipment in the county. Each desk in the music theory classes has its own keyboard and computer, and the recording facilities are top notch. Some of the other classrooms are sort of bare-bones, but not terrible by any means.
College Junior 2013-06-03T18:08:19Z
I really like the campus resources. They are helpful and kind. There are a lot of offerings through the social club, like doughnuts and lunch and stuff. They have a nice coffee station to get a pick me up. A lot of computers for school use as well.
College Junior 2013-06-03T18:06:59Z
Network Isn't Too Bad – I've not used the network too often, but when I do, I never have problems. I can bring my laptop to the library and use the wireless and it has a pretty good speed. The labs have plenty of computers, I have never had to wait for one. Although, they are kinda old.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
