Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

If there's one thing you won't find at Baruch, it's an established drug scene. As an urban commuter school, it has managed to escape the active drug and drinking scene that's visible on so many other campuses throughout the country, probably because Baruch doesn't have dorms that provide a private space to do drugs. This doesn't mean there isn't anyone at Baruch who does drugs—it's a large and diverse group of people, after all—but it's most likely a very small percentage of the student body. Overall, students seem to be much more concerned with cigarette smoke engulfing building entrances than they are about drugs.

The bottom line is that if any Baruch students are doing drugs, they are likely doing them off campus where they can get enough privacy and whatever else they need. Most students don't come here with the intention to party or use drugs—the atmosphere is all wrong wrong for that.

Drinking Is Somewhat Popular

Since Baruch does not really have a campus, so it is really rare to see people taking drugs and alcohol. However, since Baruch is located in NYC, pubs and bars are everywhere, in a sense, students do go drinking in places that are a few steps away from campus

Behind-theScene Action

The drug scene at Baruch College is a normally ignored event. The reason is because there are always people smoking outside the building, and it's become a regular scene when I enter the building. Drinking, on the other hand, is not so visible, but it is a popular relaxer before and after classes for some people.
