Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Greek life at Baruch is not as active as it might be at more traditional campuses where lots of students live on campus and being part of a frat or sorority is a main way to socialize and make friends. In addition, New York City has a solid range of off-campus leadership opportunities, and many Baruch students are too busy building their resumes with part-time jobs to actively participate in letter organizations. Still, Greek life is a very special and cherished world to those who take part in it. Its presence may not a huge social force on campus, but it doesn't mean it's not active. In fact, you might be surprised to find out that some of your classmates, who you thought were leaving the school at the end of classes, are active in Greek organizations. You will probably come across a few students who will proudly tell you that Greek life at Baruch is on the rise. They may talk about all the activities and community service they engage in. They may name some fellow Greek life members who serve in various campus leadership positions. You might even end up being recruited. Still, to many Baruch students who rush from job to class to home, Greek life is something that's not really on their minds.

Obviously, the choice of whether you join a Greek society is totally up to you. If it is something you are interested in pursuing, it's worth stopping by the student organizations area on the third floor of the Vertical Campus where many campus groups have their offices. You can also attend the Meet the Greeks event to learn more information. The bottom line is that while Baruch may not have the most active Greek life on campus, it's readily available to those who are interested in participating.

Minor Aspect of School Culture

Greek life at Baruch primarily impacts the members. Non-Greeks ill go to the parties or support their friends if they are a part of a society but overall aside from the constant groups bunched together around campus or promoting events, Greek life is limited to the designated periods set aside in the school year to celebrate them.

Not a Big Deal Here.

Not a big Greek Life school. Baruch has it's frats and sororities, but if you want to party, there are plenty of options in NYC

Greek life is there for a multitude of reasons. There are many events hosted by frats and sororities, as well as parties. However, the parties are mainly kept within the frat/ sororities.
