Join a club or organization that focuses on your major or concentration, and start making connections as soon as you are at Baruch. Also, talk to professors and visit your major’s department—sometimes they know who’s hiring.
One of the best things about studying in New York City is being so close to a huge range of companies in the private and public sectors. The Starr Career Development Center at Baruch has been instrumental in helping students obtain internships and prepare for interviews, so definitely make an appointment with them. There are also campus fairs where students can meet with representatives of potential employers. Overall, there’s a strong chance of obtaining a position if you actively pursue it.
