Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Fast-paced. Crowded. Entertaining. Welcome to Manhattan, the heart of New York City. Some people love it, others wish they were somewhere else. But if you want to be in the epicenter of an urban life, come study at Baruch. The neighborhood is filled with skyscrapers, cars, tourists, nightlife, and all the bells and whistles that come with living in this megapolis. The city has a lot to offer, including the famous Broadway theaters, which are a 10-minute train ride from campus. And, if at any point you need to take a break from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, head to Central Park, which is about a 15-minute train ride from Baruch. This huge park, which makes up 6 percent of Manhattan, is a refreshing place to enjoy nature and soothe your stress. In the summer, you can enjoy jogging, biking, and boating, and in the winter, you can go ice skating and skiing here.

Baruch is not the only college in the neighborhood. The Fashion Institute of Technology and the School of Visual Arts are within walking distance. But, as a Baruch student, you will definitely want to make connections on campus. Besides student clubs and organizations where you can meet new friends, the one place where all Baruchians like to gather is Fitzgerald's Pub, a cozy Irish bar on the corner of Third Avenue and 25th Street. It's a place to shake off your academic stress, socialize, and meet new people. Besides getting drinks, you can watch a game on one of several flat-screen TVs, play darts, or grab something from the food menu. For some students, time at the Fitz is a sort of rehearsal for those future business outings at classy restaurants.

So Much to Do

Baruch is located in Manhattan, New York City. There are many different museums such as MOMA, The MET and even the Museum of Natural history. Many areas of shopping such as nearby 34th St where Macy's is at and nearby Soho and Chelsea areas. The farmer's market in Union Square is only a few blocks away and everyone is very amicable. Many cool lounge bars and sports bars nearby in walking distance and great restaurants.

Located in the Center of the Big Apple

CUNY Baruch is located in the center of one of the premiere cities of America. The big apple, Baruch is located at 25th St and Lexington Ave, NY NY. There's always something going on, from people trying to make a quick buck on the street to Broadway plays. It's a hustle bustle atmosphere where most people walk like they had somewhere to be yesterday. Streets can get packed at night and in the early morning when people come in from other states, Long Island, and other countries to see what our city has to offer. Being a closed campus, not just anyone can enter Baruch but students are very integrated in to the city life. Everyone's treated as another set of feet in this crowded area.

I Love New York City

The school is situated in the lower east side in Manhattan, New York. I grew up in this city and I am absolutely in love with it. We may not have a real campus at Baruch but I believe that New York City is our campus.
