Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

City College may be small compared to the other universities in New York City, but it still kicks butt. City has many special attributes that most students won't find anywhere else, including the diversity, the crazy amount of scholarships available, the amazing fellowships and internships, and the professors. It may be a public college, but the professors who teach are still highly qualified. They hail from Ivy League schools and well-known private universities from around the United States to teach a dedicated bunch of City College students—students who are friendly, easy to talk to, and worth making friends with.

Off-Campus Dining at CUNY City College of New York

Some Options

There are a lot of small restaurants and fast food places around the area that offer quick and cheap food that is generally pretty good. (Hispanic food, chinese and pizzerias are most popular) However I find myself traveling far out of campus for better food and whenever I get tired of the same thing. NYC is very diverse when it comes to food and transportation is quick and easy so I don't mind traveling downtown on my 2-3 hour break for food.

Health & Safety at CUNY City College of New York

Pretty Safe

I personally feel very comfortable walking around my campus especially during the mornings and afternoons. However, they have sent recent emails about muggings and suspicious activities that have been occurring lately. While this concerns me, I have not felt less safe. I think if I were taking late night classes or the campus was regularly empty, I would be more worried, but that is not the case for now.

The Worst

It takes less time to arrive to college than to park. You need to be at least 40 minutes early to find a parking spot.
