Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Question most students at City College on how any of the sports teams are doing for the season, and they will scratch their heads and shrug their shoulders. The fact is City College isn't exactly a big athletics school. Sports are very low profile, athletes are not well known throughout campus, and no one really knows where the matches and tournaments are held. Most students do not have the time, but for those who do play sports, the athletics department is fully stocked with a gymnasium, a fitness center, an indoor track, and an indoor pool, which are open to both athletes and students.

City offers 16 varsity sports—eight for women and eight for men. Just because most students aren't hyped about sports here, that doesn't mean our teams suck. We've won many awards and have 48 CUNYAC championships since 1966. In the 2005–2006 season, CCNY earned 21 conference all-star selections.
