I don't live on campus, but I've heard that most students enjoy it.

The weather never really affects the school. I don't recall ever having a snow day, but it was closed during Hurricane Sandy.

There's probably one of every kind of person you could possibly meet at Hunter

Health & Safety:
The campus is in an urban area so there never is any trouble really. People tend to keep to themselves so no one really starts problems.
College Senior 2013-11-24T22:17:58Z
There's wifi for those with a NetID for Hunter, and there are computers available on most floors in the West building. However, they're usually slow so it's probably best to bring your own or try using the computers in the East building.

The cafeteria has been closed before for being unclean, and constantly has a 'B' rating. There are a few options, but they're not all that tasty nor healthy.
College Senior 2013-11-24T22:14:05Z
On campus there are a few food trucks that have a very good reputation as they've been there for years. If you walk an avenue or two over there are many restaurants and delis that have a variety of food and deliver too. I can't speak too highly of the cafeteria at Hunter, which has been closed down in the past for being unclean. The food there isn't all that good or healthy.

It's such a big school that it's difficult to actually meet anyone and develop some kind of a relationship. How enjoyable or informative a class is depends a lot on the professor teaching the course. Some professors genuinely like to help students and are understanding, while others are just complete pricks.

Things are pretty lenient in regards to most activities that students bring to the attention of the school administration.
College Senior 2013-11-24T22:07:02Z
I'm not aware of what goes on in the Athletics department or athletics part of the school.

Pretty crappy. Not many options, not always open, and overpriced.

Weather could really make the commute miserable!!

Health & Safety:
I always felt safe. Security was mainly visible at entrances. Sometimes they patroled the halls.

Again, New York City. Plenty of options. But expensive!
Recent Alumnus 2013-11-12T15:44:48Z
Most people wouldn't drive. But it's New York City. Parking is ridiculous in general.
Recent Alumnus 2013-11-12T15:44:12Z
I don't think it was a big part at all. Not really a big school for athletics.
Recent Alumnus 2013-11-12T15:43:31Z
I got great financial aid, even though it wasn't technically from the school itself.
Recent Alumnus 2013-11-12T15:43:02Z
I have zero clue about Greek life. It did not play a major role in my school at all.
Recent Alumnus 2013-11-12T15:42:21Z
The city has good nightlife and options. None of it is connected to the school, though. So there's no real "scene".
Recent Alumnus 2013-11-12T15:41:32Z
It's a city "campus", so the main (and practically only) option is public transportation. It's ok. Nothing the school can do about it, anyway.
Recent Alumnus 2013-11-12T15:40:39Z
Old old old. Not very nice at all. Musty. Not many good spaces to hang out or study. Did I mention it was old?
Recent Alumnus 2013-11-12T15:39:12Z
It was ok. Can't complain, but nothing to praise, either. The main I attended was because I got a full scholarship. So.
Recent Alumnus 2013-11-12T15:38:28Z
Some things are strict, others not. Most annoying personally was the visitation policy.

Need upgrades and more computer labs. Always crowded, unless you go during off-hours or during times when everyone is in class. Printing lines always long.
College Senior 2013-11-11T19:17:44Z
Professors were goof.
