Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

It isn’t uncommon to be watching television in the lounge and see a security guard patrolling the hallway. The security presence in the dorm is pretty evident, and they begin by monitoring student activities upon entry in to the building. The implementation of rules and regulations is strictly a dorm concern, and the Office of Residence Life and the RAs enforce these rules. Residence Life also conducts random fire safety inspections of student rooms to eradicate the dorm of banned materials (such as candles) and to fine those that break the rules.

If a student breaks a rule, whether it be smoking in the dorms or not following the correct guest procedure, he or she will have a meeting with a Residence Life administrator. The office has proven to stand its ground, kicking people out of the dorms for unruly behavior, though that is extremely rare. The most the average student has to worry about, though, is having guest privileges suspended for two weeks.

Well legally I believe anyone can enter as long as they give ID. They will receive a visitors pass. It's not like we [Hunter students] don't feel safe, there is enough security around to remove that fear!

Not Very Strict...

Since there's so many students at this school, it is very hard to keep a hold on all of them. There is no way security guards are able to help everyone. Near the roof of Hunter North I would often find some students smoking weed. Or smell the scent of weed being wafted into the hallway.
