Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

There are two main cafeterias on campus: one located in the Music Building and the other located in Carman Hall. Students can choose from a variety of cuisines in the Music Building cafeteria, including diner fare (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), pizza, Chinese food, soups, sandwiches, coffee, and fresh salads. The Carman Café features a Starbucks and a full salad bar. Both cafeterias accept cash, debit, and credit cards.

However, most students who frequent the cafeterias also prefer to study there, as well, especially because they can access wireless Internet. The cafeterias are perfect for study groups, and many students also choose to bring their laptops and study individually on the sofas in Carman Café. Upperclassmen tend to stay mainly in Carman Café because of the calmer atmosphere conducive for studying, whereas underclassmen (and some high school students from both the High School of American Studies and The Bronx High School of Science) elect to convene at the Music Building cafeteria, making it a more social (and noisy) gathering area. Recently, a lounge area opened under the Music Building café, where students are able to eat, listen to music, and hang out.
