Students looking for an affordable college with decent academics may find Queens College to be the place for them. However, students looking for loads of involvement in student life, with a particular sense of community, may not find it at Queens College. The fact that QC is a commuter school causes a lack of communal feeling between the students. For those who are coming to Queens with little or no friends, it is extremely helpful to join a Greek organization. Other students have found themselves to be comfortable and happy on campus with a few close friends. Sometimes it just takes a little work to find your niche.

According to other students, Queens is the ideal place to be—from academics to the social life to adequate facilities to students simply feeling satisfied with their college experience. Queens offers so much and has all that one could ask for as a college student. For students whose desired college experience consists of a large amount of partying and going to bars and pubs, QC is not the best campus for these activities. Overall, QC seems to be geared toward students looking for a certain balance with college life, where students are generally serious about their studies and basically go to college to get their degree, while somewhat getting involved in other activities.
