Locally there are a lot of stores and you can distract yourself for a while but in general it's not that great. I tend to stay in the campus unless I'm buying food.

Honestly, I have seen alcohol once and it wasn't even in the campus and I have never seen anyone with drugs there at all.

The weather doesn;t affect too much because the campus is cozy in the winter, or cool in the summer. It is also close to the train stationa and so, it is not a big problem.

Health & Safety:
The health office is there and they can be helpful for headaches and other minor things but, somethimes they don't help at all. The safety people are there and they can be very good and lenient but somethimes this causes misunderstandings and people don't know rules clearly so problems can arise.

This college doesn't have on-campus housing in the first place so everyone just lives off-campus either way.

The PA program at York College is exactly how I had imagined it to be when I was declaring my major. The firsthand experience I am gaining daily through my courses and the interesting readings have helped me understand what exactly I will be managing as a Physician's Assistant. If I could do it all over again I would chose PA every time. It amazes me how much I've attached myself to this career path as my knowledge grew on it over time. I do not have many concerns about finding a job in my field as the medical field is growing daily and with new information and research everyday, there is always room for another Physician!

The off-campus dining options include a great variety of fast food restaurants alongside very affordable small businesses where it would be almost impossible to fail in finding a meal to accommodate to your choices.

In my Physician Assistant major I am required to have 200 hours of volunteer experience which will act as an internship. This volunteer work includes any medical experience I can gain at a hospital/clinic where my medical knowledge will be expanded. I can even gain this experience as a first hand assistant of a medical practitioner where I will be working head on in the field alongside with an experienced doctor.

As a student in York College, I do not have many complaints with the Physician Assistant program so far. Though the workload may seem like a lot in the beginning, once you are more comfortable with it, it doesn't bother you at all. The professors are very experienced and care a lot about every student's education. I can see how much effort is put into each lecture and it is greatly appreciated. Unique aspects of my program are the great abilities we are designed to inhibit as we dissect different types of species and expand our knowledge on the many different scientific approaches in the medical sciences.

The program I am currently enrolling in is the Physician's Assistant Program at CUNY York College. You must first complete the prerequisites required and then submit an application for which you will sooner receive a decision of entry. The challenges I faced were that I transferred to this campus from a different CUNY, so many of my courses did not transfer over and I had to retake them. The most important criteria for admission is the combined math and science GPA which must be at least a 3.0 and the application process is fairly normal. Any tips would be to have a few more open seats as only about 10% of applicants get accepted into the program.

I'm not sure about the athletics department because I've personally never visited/been a part of it. I do see students practicing their dance routines in the main building, which is very entertaining and fun!

York college does have mac computers available to their students. The Dell computers, which are more preferable to me, should get updated/upgraded because they do take a while to start working. Printing on campus is fairly easy, as it just requires your username and password, and money (from tuition) on your account.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
