The Same Old – There are only a few options for meals, such as the sandwich bar, pizza section, and the casserole and hot meal area. They typically serve the same thing every week. There are other fast food places and sit downs around campus, such as McDonalds, Ruby Tuesday's, and Subway. I suggest buying food for your room and a small meal plan.

So Much Homework, Few Things to Do – Mitchell is a smaller town, with few sit-down restuarants and other activities. It does have a larger high school and a technical college. There is little shopping, but most residents seem to appreciate the positive affects college students have on the Mitchell community. Mitchell includes the world's only Corn Palace, which is pretty cool if you have never visited it before!

Small School, Small Travel – Dakota Wesleyan University is such a small school, everything is within walking distance, even in snow, rain, and sleet. The enrollment is only about 720 students, so the two dorms and the apartments are within easy distance of the food, classes, and offices. When all else fails, the taxi service in Mitchell is good about coming and going from the campus.

DWU Is the Town – Dakota Wesleyan University is the center of Mitchell, SD. There isn't much else around. There is the world's only Corn Palace. Outside dining options include a few family restaurants, a couple of fast food joints, and Walmart. There isn't much outside options, but what there is to eat, is good food.

Mcgovern Library – Our library was built a few years back. The facilities are kept clean and in nice condition. We have a little cafe in the library and plenty of study rooms available. There are multiple lavatory facilities around the library, and classrooms. The staff of McGovern Library is very friendly and courteous to students of Dakota Wesleyan and the public.

Dorm in Need of an Upgrade – The freshman dorms are in great need to some upgrading, especially the bathrooms. They should have more sanitary options like automatic soap dispensers and hand towel dispensers. The showers could also use remodeling.

Campus Food – Dakota Wesleyan provides a wide variety of food each day. I do wish there were more healthy options, but in camparison to other college campuses in South Dakota, DWU is by far one of the better food providers.

Health & Safety:
Personal Safety – Dakota Weselyan does an awesome job of providing safety on campus. We have key entry to our floors 24/7.

Class Size – One of the things I'm enjoying the most at Dakota Wesleyan University is that my classes range in size from 15-30 students. I am not just a number in college but a student. My professor knows me by name and we can communicate about assignments, struggles I may be having and other learning opportunities.

A Nice Town and Area – The fatality and staff are so nice and will know you pretty quickly. The town is well equipped and the only thing you'll need to go to Sioux fAlls (an hour away) is a bookstore. Disc golf is a good activity that a poor college student can take up to relax.
The only negative part of the school is the campus ministry part. At least last year, they were very standoffish.

A Relaxed Atmosphere. I don't know about any policies concerning drinking. I do know there is some of it happening off campus and such. EVerything is pretty relaxed however, except when it comes to the nursing program. They are a real stickler for the dress code while at clinicals and that will effect your grade.

B+ Because of the Mail System and How Much They Hate Macs. So far as I know, the labs are generally unbusy. There was only one time during the year when I wanted to use a computer and had problems finding one at the library. Computers are mainly windows machines, although there is a mac lab on campus for the graphic design majors specifically.
Internet is usually fast, and runs well. However, the school mandates that all computers, including macs, have antivirus software and CCAgent installed, both unnecessary measures in my opinion. In order to get internet on the itouch, you have to go to IT to get it whitelisted.
E-mail system is very poor. E-mails are difficult to see, review, and have set up as pop.
printing is on a budget plan. You are given $150 at the beginning of the semester. However, almost no one has ever gone over that amount, and if you do for a class, the teacher will tell you to get more added onto your account.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
