Alcohol Use

Alcohol use is somewhat common, but drug use is less common. I observe people smoking here than at home, but I'm not from the south so I think that's the difference. The campus police are great, here to keep us safe not to get us in trouble.

We Have It...

SAE is known for its pot scene and Kappa Sig and KA have been known to have users of hard drugs, but the campus' strict drug policy keeps this scene under control. A disgusting amount of students smoke cigarettes though. The main drug is alcohol though which is very prevalent and pretty much free on this campus.

Alcohol Is Most Popular by Far

Depending on who you're surrounded by, it may seem like there are few opportunities for fun that don't involve drinking. That being said, it IS possible to go down the hill and party without drinking. Other drugs aren't prevalent, but you can find them if you want them. I haven't heard of much use of hard drugs, just the occasional joint or prescription pill, and even then only by a handful of people. And campus police is really good about making sure everyone's safe; you never feel like they're out to get you. Their primary concern is always your safety.
