College Prowler Take

It’s hard to complain about the weather at Davidson, and students are more than amenable to the long springs and short winters here. As many point out, temperatures are relatively mild year-round, and the campus has been known to see weeks of 70-degree weather even in mid-January. While summer weather can get excruciating, most students are heading home just as the breezy May days are turning humid. Overcast days are few and far between here, but many students point out that you should bring your umbrella and raincoat anyway. Students are unanimous in recommending a varied wardrobe, and you’ll certainly need it all—from winter boots to swimming suits.

While Davidson may not be the best choice for those seeking year-round warm weather, it’s a great environment for those who like the change of seasons without the frigid temperatures of the northeast. You’ll see plenty of brilliant colors here, from fall leaves to spring flowers. Overall, students here won’t have trouble finding a variety of outdoor activities to do, no matter what season it is.

The weather in North Carolina is pretty mild. During the school year, the temperature will range from the low 90s in the early fall and late spring to around 20 in the winter. Bring mid-weight clothes for most of the year, but don’t forget your bathing suit because the Lake Campus is always the place to be when it’s warm.

The weather is usually temperate here. We have four seasons but usually they are not severe. In fact, this past November we had days in the 70s. This is not typical, however, and I would definitely bring a set of summer and winter clothes.

The weather is good here. It’s cold—but not too cold—in the winter, pretty in the fall (chilly as it gets closer to wintertime), spring is rainy, but not too bad (it’s warm for the most part), and summer is hot. The clothing needed depends on where you come from—I guess the most worrisome season would be winter. I’d bring a thick jacket and a few sweaters.

During the fall and spring, the weather at Davidson is ideal. Warm weather is present for most of the school year, allowing students to wear shorts, T-shirts, and any comfortable summer wear most of the time. The winter months vary greatly weather-wise, and students need to dress accordingly. One year, students could be wearing summer-type clothes in early December, while last year, students had to fight snow storms, ice storms, and freezing rain. So during that period, anything goes.

The weather is great. It’s hot in the summer, warm for a long time in the fall (until sometime in November), mild in the winter, and spring starts around the end of February. Spring is the most beautiful time at Davidson. You won’t need too many sweaters or a very heavy coat.
