Students, faculty, and staff all agree that the College is a safe place. Not only is the school far from a city and its accompanying crimes, but every community member is also held accountable for his or her actions. While there might be some concern with the operation of the ranch's heavy machinery, the ranch staff is nothing if not protective, cautious, and helpful. Crime is never an issue, but should criminal activity arise, there are enough levelheaded individuals on campus to handle the issue with care.
In spite of the College's near-spotless safety record during its century of operation, the administration takes great measures to keep the school safe for everyone involved. All students must pass muster under the supervision of one of the ranch staff members before operating any equipment, no matter how simple the task. Consequences for disregarding this policy are swift and severe, though the need for their implementation rarely arises. An atmosphere of respect and an expectation that one earns the privilege to use the farm's tools ensure a safe working environment for everyone.
