Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The bottom line about weather is that there are four seasons, and you need to be prepared for all of them. Ohio weather is a tour de force; it is not Hawaii—there will be some snow in the winter. And winter will last for a good while, which is a source of complaint for most students. However, once the weather warms up (and it will), students will be out on the quads throwing a Frisbee around or reading in the sun. You may even see the occasional barefoot student.

In the fall, T-shirts and shorts are the way to go. The weather will be warm, and if you wear long-sleeved shirts all the time, you will be more than aware of it. In the wintertime, a nice winter coat will get you through, and if you’re particularly sensitive to cold, you may benefit from dressing in layers. The nice thing about Ohio weather is that although it does snow, Denison is outside of the snowbelt, so you won’t be up to your knees in it all winter. And the weather is just temperate enough that sometimes we get winter rain instead of snow. In the spring, the weather will warm up again and shorts will serve you well. Just be prepared for the spring rain. An umbrella at Denison is a must!

Fall Is Beautiful!

The weather is unpredictable. It can be raining it hailing on moment and then be beautiful with blue skies the next. It does rain a lot but that doesn't take away from the beauty of the campus. I have never seen anything more breathtaking than a sunny fall day on the hill. The best view is on the sixth floor of talbot. It will leave you speechless.

OHIO WEATHER IS THE WORST

No joke. In February, it was 70 degrees out so we had our first quad day. Then in May, it was 40 and raining. Ohio weather actually sucks. You never know, despite the season, what the weather will bring that day. I suggest not bringing home your sweaters and jackets over spring break like most normal college students do; in ohio, you'll probably be needing that sometime in April or so. However, to Denison's defense, I have never seen anything more beautiful in my life than Denison in the Fall. I don't care if they say Kenyon is the most beautiful campus in the world, I just think they have never seen Denison before. Breathtaking on the right day. Even in winter, though the wind and temp can make you tear up, the sight of the quad covered in snow is amazing.

Ohio Weather - Erratic

The weather is all over the place. In some ways, its very nice, because we get a little of everything - beautiful warm sunny days, deep, snowball fight ready snowfalls, etc. At the same time, its incredibly unpredictable, which can be problematic.
