| Advice on Finding a Job/Internship | |
DePaul’s career center offers a number of career development services, such as workshops, alumni events, networking events, job and internship fairs, and mentoring programs, so take advantage. Finding work on campus is relatively easy—each of the college, administrative, and departmental offices are often open to hiring student workers, as are the bookstore, library, and dorms.
However, since you’re in Chicago, there’s little reason to keep your employment options exclusive to those that are campus-affiliated. You’ll be able to find job and internship opportunities perfect for your interests all over the city. Just remember, you’ll need to do a lot of face-to-face work in order to get the job you really want because chances are there are tons of other people applying for the same position.
