thanks! are there any useful things I should take with me??
Well you definitely need to come with toiletries on the first day because orientation will fill up your schedule that you might not have time to make it to Walmart (which you would need a ride for). You will need flipflops for the shower and a caddy to transport your bodywash and shampoo easily from your room to the shower. Also, things to organize your room and conserve space is highly recommended especially if you have a lot of stuff. A shoe rack or storage containters and closet hanging space-saving storage stuff would help. I had ample space in my room in Bishop Roberts at DePauw but of course over the years I have accumulated a lot of stuff. Twin XL sheets and mattress protectors are ideal and anything else that would make you comfortable and feel at home. You will be staying there more than you will be at home! I hope this was helpful! :)
In general DePauw is rigorous but it will definitely all pay off in the long run!
They are redoing the gymnasium as we received a very big generous donation to redo the athletic fields and builidng. Yes the pool is open to regular students, there are teams and clubs for dancing and martial arts, both of which I participated in and we are known for Little 5, which is a bike race but you can exercise or cycle here on your own as well!

DePauw is definitely home to the quintessential college experience. Students are offered a college town that dominates a small town environment, where full focus is placed on over 2,000 young people who call campus home for nine months of the year. The classes and professors keep students very busy but supply a wealth of knowledge and opportunity.
As with all universities, the experience is what students make of it, but DePauw professors and programs seem to make success especially accessible for those who try. The University is also very conducive to building strong social skills and tight knit friendships that tend to carry on long after graduation. The DePauw network extends across the country and maintains ties between classes, houses, and majors.
A DePauw education has a multitude of benefits, and the allowance to try many different fields and explore areas outside your specific major. The different disciplines teach you how to think, learn, and question. Within the cornfields of north western Indiana, you will learn everything from formulas of physics to the values of friendship. DePauw will offer you four of the best years of your life; it's up to you to take it.
