The Career Center provides a full range of career and internship information and assistance to students. The professional staff provides career counseling and assists students with all aspects of career development, including resumé and cover-letter writing, practice interviewing and informational interviewing. Workshops on topics such as summer jobs, international careers, and career trips to visit alumni in their work environments are offered each semester. Past trips have included Wall Street and Creative Careers in New York. The center also has an extensive library with resources on careers, job announcements, professional magazines and much more. Go talk to the people at the Career Center. They are extremely friendly and willing to help students find any kind of job, from a summer internship to a full-time career. In addition, they have an online program where students can fill out a profile and receive e-mails when internships and jobs open up that match their personal interests. This program is very popular because it provides students with Web sites and phone numbers to call in any area of the country to find jobs and set up interviews. During the fall, the Career Center sponsors “Resumania,” where students can sit down with instructors and learn how to write a capable resumé. The Career Center also assists students in applying to grad schools, and they will do anything from set up college interviews to arrange classes to prepare for the LSATs, MCATs, GREs, and other tests.
