There are some valid reason to not make it to class. Some teachers are more strict than others, so it's not consistant

Guys & Girls:
Most students are nontraditional, working students returning to school after working for years. All types of people.

Lots of restaurants close to this campus. Grocery store just across the street with cafe also.

Health & Safety:
Very small inner-city campus. Located next to several business so not isolated for late evening access.

Health & Safety:
I had an incident this year with a male that was a non student not once but twice. Both times the office staff made me feel and were available immediately when he was present in the school. He was eventually not allowed in the school but the staff were true angels. They protected me and treated me as if I was one of their family members. They always followed up with and also advised me of any actions they felt were necessary. I always was provided an escort to my vehicle after class. These are truly amazing people.

Seems Average to Me – Some people smoke pot, some drink, it just depends.. I think that's everywhere you go though! Its going to happen, though not at school, just depends who you decide to hang with and if you decide to partake

Guys & Girls:
I Don't Much Notice That – it seems average as far as the students go - there's a lot of non-traditional students, so probably not where you'd go to find a date...

At the Lincoln campus there's not much for facilities, but at the Grand Island campus there is I think, though have never seen, but hear it's very nice.

Not Strict Really – The campus doesn't appear to be strict. The staff seems pretty relaxed, and I haven't heard of any harsh punishments.

Good Variety – There's lots of variety, so much, I have trouble choosing! There's lots of Chinese, Vietnamese, Italian, sandwich shops, Mexican.. And so forth. And there are some real Vietnamese places in particular, that are extremely fresh and authentic. Though most of the food is fresh. There are decent prices, depending on where you go. Not a lot of student discounts though.

You Get What You Pay for – There's lots of relatively cheap apartments by the school and a wide variety. The north side of town (which is where the school is located) is not as nice as the south side, which is where I live. The south side is up to about fifteen minutes away. The further south you go (usually) the more expensive housing will be. There is lots of shopping by the school, even an organic food store, just down the street. Parking depends on where you live, most places have their own parking lot.

All the scholarships are on the school website, and most of them I was not eligible to apply for. The financial aid process is relatively easy, and fast, but just not a lot of info at the school about scholarships.

There Are a Lot of Restaurants Near by Campus – There are a variety of choices for dining near campus. Not only that Mc.Donald, Burger King, Subway (plus other fast food restaurant) is near by, you also have super market and drug store in walking distance also. The mall is a couple blocks away and is full of dining option. The new Cheddar restaurant is just opened near by and is full of cheap and delicious selection. There is a Chinese restaurant by Tj Max and Best Buy plus the China buffer and HuHot Mongolian Grill is also near by the mall ( which is all in walking distant).

Apartments Are Expensive! I am living in an apartment 2 blocks away from school. It is a very big apartment complex and seem like to always available (1 or2 bedrooms). I have asked for prices around this area (especially those on Vine street). Apartment in this area is expensive and not worth it. It is close to school but when comparing price and quality, it doesn't match. Paying for a one bedroom around this area cost as much as paying for 2 bedrooms elsewhere. Some have amenities like pool and gym, but some of them only offer cable. the building is not new, and so is the inside. This area is clean and neat, but definitively not worth the rent.

Security Officer Make Me Feel Safe – This is my first term at Doane, so therefore I haven't got the chance to know things about campus yet. One thing that I like and appreciate a lot is that there is alway a security officcer around . I have class in the morning and sometime I come onto campus during the evening to use the computer lab. I usually see an officer in the office, or walking around. It seem to me like he was doing "round check" here and there. I feel safe because it appears like the officer is keeping track of what is going on and who is around. This let me know that Doane is strict about orderness and safety.
