Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Most students take a laptop with them to the College because of its convenience. Also, the wireless Internet at Dordt is accessible in any building on campus. However, sometimes the network connection can be a little unreliable. Everyone, including students and professors, heavily rely on the use of e-mail and the Internet in general. Quite a few professors will set up an online forum for additional class discussion on topics. Assignments can also be found online for most courses, so it is crucial for you to have access to a computer.

One major asset that has recently been added to the College is the new media lab, which features 16 PCs and 10 Macs. Some of the best computers on campus are in the media lab, with more software programs on these computers to accommodate the students involved with digital media. For that reason, the media lab is reserved only for those students to use. The computers in the other labs are substandard; they will give you the tools you need to access the Internet and write a paper, but beyond that, they’re nothing fancy.
