I personally do not own a car, but when I do drive with people who have one, the spots fill up quickly in the lots but they are very close to campus which is nice.

I love having the underground fitness center; it is very convenient especially when it gets cold and I do not want to walk all the way to the Bell Center. There are always events on campus to participate in and the organizations do a wonderful job of hosting a wide variety of them throughout the year.

Greek Life is very big here which set apart this school from others I was looking at.
College Freshman 2013-11-21T05:50:14Z
All of the freshman dorms on campus are located in spots where it is easy to get to any class. It is very convenient to have the washers and dryers right in the lower levels of each dorm.

The wifi can be awful at times. For awhile I was unable to get any connection in a certain room where I needed it the most.

I got a huge scholarship to come here and FASFA helped out a lot.
College Freshman 2013-11-21T05:46:02Z
There are a lot of options to choose from and it is nice to have an area open which serves food late at night. The menu's can become repetitive at the dining hall but the way meal plans can be used to buy items in the convenience store is very helpful.

Greek Life is very big here and even though a lot of the people who have joined do drink, you are not pressured into doing so and can still have a great time at the parties without drinking or doing drugs.
College Freshman 2013-11-21T05:42:50Z
There is not a lot of racial diversity here. It is hard to determine if there is a difference between religions or political beliefs but I do know quite a few homosexual people so there is a diversity in the sexual orientation topic

I love it here. The faculty is very helpful, there are a lot of organizations and clubs to join and I have already made great friendships with a lot of people here.
College Freshman 2013-11-21T05:39:45Z
I do not live off-campus but I have visited some apartments close by which was what my ratings above were based off of
College Freshman 2013-11-21T05:37:43Z
Most lecture classes are not strict at all about attending classes and it is very easy for family and friends to visit and stay the night at the dorms
College Freshman 2013-11-21T05:34:27Z
There is a lot going on throughout the weekend. Sororities and Fraternities have joint parties and events all the time

Guys & Girls:
The people at Drake are very friendly and welcoming.
College Freshman 2013-11-14T21:52:18Z
Not the best food but there are always vegan/vegetarian options at every meal time. Different serving stations offer different cultural foods ex. Chinese, Mediterranean/Greek, American or even Italian. If you don't have time to eat at the actual dining hall itself there is a separate food spot on campus that makes food to go and there is a convenience store also located on campus.
College Freshman 2013-11-14T21:46:09Z
Most of the halls have recently been renovated and there is always an event going on in one or more halls every month. The halls are fairly closes to classes some are closer to certain buildings than others, but hey that's just life and zoning for ya.
College Freshman 2013-11-14T21:42:12Z
When it's hot it is hot and when it's cold it's freezing. It's an easy fix with shorts in the summer/spring, a jacket and scarf in the fall, snow boots and a heavy coat in the winter. Other than that beautiful weather, but don't forget a good umbrella in case it rains.
College Freshman 2013-11-14T21:39:46Z
The financial aid process is simple and everything is done in a timely manor.
College Freshman 2013-11-14T21:38:18Z
Greek students and non-greek students get along well, they don't look down upon each other and both sides are friendly.

Health & Safety:
Health and safety are great, there are two gym facilities one mainly for cardio and the for all things fitness ex. weights, treadmills, and yoga like classes. There is a student clinic within walking distance and security alert stations throughout the campus if you ever do feel unsafe.
College Freshman 2013-11-14T21:31:44Z
Drake widely uses Apple Macs throughout the campus and they work well.
College Freshman 2013-11-14T21:28:53Z
Drake University is an excellent campus with modern architecture and an incredible library. Drake's curriculum is catered around the idea that everyone should graduate in four years without being rushed. Students begin classes in the major of their choice, if applicable, their first year on campus. That way they know if they are in the right field from the beginning of their college career unlike during their junior year like other colleges. The only down fall is that the food isn't the best but worse things have been consumed.

Des Moines is sooooooo cold in the winter!!! Most people are from the Midwest so we are used to it, but if you're not be prepared!
College Student 2013-11-12T21:02:37Z
Awesome parties almost every weekend night. All right around campus, hardly ever get busted.
College Student 2013-11-12T21:01:08Z
Not many people do drugs on campus, however some do. If you don't you won't feel left out and no one will judge you.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
