Most lecture classes are not strict at all about attending classes and it is very easy for family and friends to visit and stay the night at the dorms

Academic policies are strict, but not to the point of no return. If you don't plagiarize and you show up to class most of the time, you'll be fine. Campus security on the other hand are very annoying. RAs are either really lenient or awfully strict, you just have to be careful. You will get in a lot of trouble for having a fake ID or drugs, but alcohol isn't as strict. Security is EVERYWHERE on weekend nights. The area around Drake can be a little sketchy, so they are mainly there for safety, but if you are caught at a bar or something you'll get a ticket.

Campus security is regularly available around Drake campus. Drugs and alcohol are strictly prohibited from campus and the dorms.

Residence Halls are fairly strict when it comes to underage drinking and illegal drug use, especially if incidences or injury occur.

Drake has strict policies involving alcohol and drugs, disruptive behavior, academic honesty, security, and more. However, it is up to the individual RA, professor, or security guard to uphold these rules. Underage drinking is a serious issue and will result in losing your housing after the 3rd offense. The security guards are pretty relaxed, unless something serious is happening. As for RAs, it really depends on the one you get.
