Advice on Finding a Job/Internship
Finding jobs and internships can be a harrowing experience for anyone. For some people, things will just fall into place. But most people have to really work at it, so the best advice is to get in touch with the Career Center early on. They offer résumé help, mailing lists, and job listings. Go to the job fair at the beginning of the school year, and get on some more e-mailing lists-networking is your friend! In this market, you have to use everything you've got. Fortunately, being part of the Duke community offers a ton! Talk with professors and tap into the alumni network. Be proactive and apply for anything that interests you. Eventually, you'll land something great!
