Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Duquesne offers a wide variety of eateries, and most students rate them between adequate and good. Towers cafeteria is the most convenient out of the dining halls, but has the lowest quality food (aside from Saturday and Sunday morning brunches). Options offers the best food and the most variety—one can even find sushi there. The Locust Street Subway and the Red Ring offer excellent food but do not accept meal plans.

The hours of operation for on-campus dining generally suffice, but late-night snackers might need to look off campus for satisfaction. Many of the eateries close before 8 p.m. on weekdays, and even earlier on weekends. The Off Ramp, probably the most popular dining spot on campus, remains open until  9 p.m. Overall, there are plenty of places to find something to eat and, aside from the cafeteria in Towers, the food is above expectations.

Food Is Basic

Food isn't top of the line, but it's edible. There are not many options, and things don't change much. After so long, you get tired of everything. Savor the fresh fruit in the dining halls.

Same Again and Again

The food is okay but very limited. Food is the same everyday at certain stations and there's only so many times you can eat it. Not much variety and VERY VERY expensive. It shouldn't go over a meal swipe.

Dining Options

There is 3 Dining halls. Towers- which is a buffet, and is typical food such as burgers grilled cheese, pizza, salads and sandwiches. You get the most for your money but the food is subpar. The next place is options where you use your flex. It offers fresh sandwiches, pasta, wraps, and pastas. It is considered a step up from towers, but you have to use flex money. The third place is Off Ramp. It is burgers, make your own pizzas, hoagies, etc, and you use flex money. There is also starbucks where you can you flex. Duquesne now offers flex money to be used in jamba juice and a nice restaurant/bar offcampus (though you cannot use flex on alcohol). Overall I think there is a decent amount of different food options to pick from. And if you are not feeling it there is plenty of places close by off campus to walk to, or call take out.

Did You Know? Duquesne has its own bar and restaurant. It is named the Red Ring after the signature class ring Duquesne graduates wear. Since they don't except a meal plan, this is a great place to bring mom and dad when they are visiting.
