Not Especially Diverse

I don't think the university should pursue diversity for its own sake, but the attitudes of the some of the other students, specifically towards homosexuals and Jews, was disturbing. Coming from a major east coast city, I was surprised at some of the slurs I heard. I guess to an extent its immaturity, but I'd hope as a Catholic going to a Catholic school my tradition would stick to its namesake.

Too Busy & Horrible Printers

Often times the computer labs are too busy to use. Also the printers are broken at least 60% of the time which is really frustrating. Last of all there is no wifi in the dorms. The ethernet is horrible and extremely slow.

Campus Strictness at Duquesne University

Hardcore Catholic

The strictness at this university is probably one of the worst things about the school. Because it is a Catholic University they are very strict on signing in people into your rooms, they have specific times people are allowed to be signed in and out of the rooms, no overnight visitors of the opposite sex ever, and you have to sign in alcohol if you are of age and there is a limit to how much alcohol you can sign in at once. On top of that you always have to swipe into your dorm rooms with your i.d. and past a certain hour you have to swipe into your dorm buildings with your i.d. and if you don't have your i.d. they will not allow you to go into the room unless you prove you actually live there. There are RAs and GAS in every building even the apartment buildings on campus who do rounds every night to make sure no one is signed in past hours and no one is partying in the dorms. Overall the school is very strict about visitation, partying, drinking, and security.
