There are a lot different times for classes and it doesn't get in my way

Since it is a community college there isn't a whole lot of campus life. There are no sports or dorms. There are a lot of student organizations and support. Even though its only a few bldgs it has everything a student needs to succeed and boost their social life.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I didn't have to come out of the pocket at all. My 2 grants were enough to cover me the whole year and I didn't have to take a loan. I am very pleased with the tuition rates and my financial aid office.

I would choose my school again if I could do it all over because of the price. When I first went to college it was at a 4 year college and at the time I wasn't serious in my studies and ended up wasting a lot of money. I value and appreciate my community college now because I know that I won't have any hefty student loans afterwards. Its a really small school with about 5 bldgs, so you cannot get lost. I don't need a lot of dazzles and frills I just want a good education.

Everything is just fine and ok at Durham Tech
College Junior 2013-10-15T15:26:44Z
Durham Tech may be a community college, but they have a high standard of academic quality. Most all of the professors I have had are very good at what they teach. Durham Tech also happens to be smack dab in the middle of the N.C. Research Triangle and is less than 25 miles from Duke University, UNC Chapel Hill, and N.C. State University. Last semester I had a chance to take a class at Durham Tech that was a collaborative effort between Durham Tech and Duke's school of Documentary Studies and taught by two of their professors. What an opportunity.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I don't really receive any financial aid. However the Veteran's Administration is currently helping me go back to school. I have been assigned a veteran's affairs counselor whom I meet with. She is an employee of the school and has been extremely helpful with any questions or issues that I may have. The cost of attendance at Durham Tech is pennies on the dollar compared to a major university, but the credits do transfer and the school is tightly networked with the public university system in N.C. so if you want to attend a 4 year school, Durham Tech can help you do that.
College Junior 2013-10-15T15:05:51Z
Durham Tech has got to be one of the most diverse schools I have ever come in contact with. Everyone who attends, say's the same thing. Every race, culture and religion is represented here, and there is a support network for all of them, including student clubs and organizations who support diversity and encourage networking.

I choose this school because of my family's history in the school. The school does a very good job of laying out classes and giving information of clubs that one can join.

I'm a major in Electronics Engineering Technology. Most of the classes I'm taking are highly relevant to the career field that I'm pursing. The only class that's the oddball is College Transfer Success, which is a class which repeats what I was taught in high school. Best to do your work early and never turn in homework late.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I don't really use financial aid but I do take the time to get scholarships to help me in school. The education is well worth the price I paid, the books are a bit of a problem because they were so expensive.

The teachers at the school do make attempts to connect everything we learn to what's going in life. The school does a great job of helping students adjust their workload. The student to teacher ration is good for most classes and they have a large variety of social programs to keep students busy.

I want pre-med classes and they are just not available to me since I am a junior in high school and I am ready for them now.

I had a hard time getting the classes I needed or I was interested in so it was not always a positive experience. There were alot of road blocks since they though I was to young. I wish someone would have taken more time to help me on a personal level.

I have done online classes every years for several years this is the first semester I have not taken one and they are good but only as good as the instructor due to communication but they are effective and I have been very successful.

They really think we know what to ask when we come into get help but the bare fact is we really dont know what we need until we find it on our own or another person you know has been doing it.

My school consisted mostly of students who didn't need a part time job to pay their tution. This meant that they were free to volunteer at many organizations thoughout the school. It also meant that they spent more time together and strengthened a student bond. We became a closer knit class involved in so many activites together to give back to our school. Now that we have graduated, we are all members of the student alumniI go forward with great memories of the friendships with the staff.

All of my subjects were related to my field of sports management. I learned a great amount about the running of a business. My program opened up an entire new perspective on the world as I see it. It actually inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and take risks. I was involved with many marketing stategies to draw in fan appreciation working as a volunteer at the NHL alumni association as well as The Toronto Blue Jays.

I took 2 online courses-both in the sciences. I wouldn't recommend
taking chemistry online because you really need the interaction that a chem lab partner offers. I also found that I didn't get the feedback and evaluations I needed to determine how well I was doing since there was no teacher to speak to. Homework was just marked -no teaching or discussions were held to explain my errors. It is important to note I didn't attend urham Technical Community College! I attended Durham College in another country.

I am very happy that Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario had an articulation with Davenport University in Michigan. I now have the opportunity to complete a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
Otherwise I would never have had the chance to study in the US.I am certian that my exposure to a university in the States will open many career doors.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I attended Durham Commun ity College in Ontario, Canada. The fees were very reasonable. I worked every summer to save up for the tuition so I didn't apply for financial aid. Durham has an articulation with Davenport U so I will attend to complete a degre in BBA. The tuition is very high since I have to live in residences. It is the first time I have to apply for financial assistance. My parents can not help me because my triplet siblings are also attending post secondary eduacation this year.

There is a diverse mixture of students. There are older students looking for a different career path. Transfer students that are looking to go to a four year college and many others who are pursuing their two year degrees. There are different functions that go on for the students to get together but I think the main goal is to get that degree.

The grade really depends on what type of class you are trying to take online. I took a pathophysiology class online and it went well. I did not like taking English online because I was not able to get personal help from the instructor on grammar and papers. I still received a good grade but would have liked the extra help.

Scheduled could be a little more flexible, but no major complaints about them. Most of my teachers spread the information out during the semester and I rarely feel rushed to complete work.
College Sophomore 2013-04-24T18:54:26Z
Really enjoy the flexibility of online classes at Durham Tech, however I wish the instructors were all conscious of their time management and post assignments in a timely manner. I've learned lots in each of my two online classes and hope to continue with them this summer.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
