I have an internship that is tied to a scholarship so I know I have that available to me. My major is a popular one at this school so there is a lot of competition for the best student teaching positions.

If you choose to be a good student and hang around similar people, you don't even notice the drug scene because you aren't part of it.

we're in a temperate climate, never terribly hot or cold - sometimes the rain makes it a wet walk to class but overall, we're in a great area.

main dining halls are sometimes very crowded and best choices are not available if you aren'nt first in line, other options around campus are good and meal choices are good

When it rains in Greenville it POURS. Class has been cancelled twice in the last 3 years because of rain being so intense. Besides that it is really gorgeous out most of the year. Winter can be a little chilly but nothing extreme.

It is some what difficult to find some places but if you look hard enough you'll find them. There is a very good selection of asian foods (Vietnamese, Chinese, Malaysian, Japanese) at Sakura Express and EC Pho. Dale's Indian and Kasturi are great Indian restaurants. Mike's Deli is extremely good and extremely convenient. There are a bunch of pizza places that deliver late night and are priced well.

Cannabis is really easy to find. Hallucinogens are not not huge but not unheard of. I've only heard of cocaine but it was usually brought in out of town by a group of people. Not much else though...No one will approach you in public and try to sell you stuff but if you go to a party you'll probably find what you want.

So far my academics have been good but there are some crazy professors.

When trying to get to the North Rec Center, the buses never come or go to different locations and do not inform you that they'll be somewhere else. The buses are late a lot and it can be hard to get to places not on the normal route. The route also takes a very long time to go around.

Graduating with a 3.8 GPA, having a considerably high amount of community service hours, extracurricular activities, etc. I qualified for ZERO scholarships as an entering freshman

Health & Safety:
ECU has a great alert system which sends a text and email to students when an assault is made on or (if off) near campus. Though, getting those emails seemed somewhat often for a short amount of time.

Guys & Girls:
They're okay, if you're into the Greek/average typical boring white middle class American look.

It's Okay I Guess – There is not much to do at ECU or Greenville if you do not like to party. It's a typical small town. It's boring here. There aren't many interesting campus clubs, but there is a movie theater and bowling alley on campus. The dining halls are not very good. There are other options for meals, though, so that is good.

It is okay I guess. I am having difficulty finding the electives I want and need during the spring and fall semesters. They seem to be offered during the summer. There's no real application process for this major, you just need a 3.0 in sociology classes to stay in it.

There is representation from pretty much all races, but like in high school, likes stick to likes and I see mostly white people from middle to upper class walking around when I go to class. People from all walks of life go to ECU, you just have to look for them. Greek life is also homogenous.

They have the same majors you'd find anywhere else in public NC universities. They have good education programs, a good business school, and plenty of allied health majors and pre-med students.

I loved living on campus my freshmen yr. It really helped me meet new people and make new friends. Also the dorms had so many bonding events just for the people in the dorm to really get a chance to get to know each other. The convenience was also great because I lived right across from the dining hall and right next to the Galley which is another food spot. Also it only took 5 mins to walk to class!
College Sophomore 2012-12-16T22:03:46Z
Dorm life is great for your first year. Students are close to campus and students get to meet many different people. Dorms are not the cleanest but you will to appreciate the little things in life when you go home, like not wearing shower shoes.

ECU offers buses to take students to different parts of campus and other various places in Greenville. If a student lives off campus, ECU has buses that can take the student to and from campus. However I do feel it is still necessary to have a car. Greenville is a small town so at one point you will feel the need to get away for a while. Also there are places you are going to want to go to but will need a car for.

ECU has a diverse mixture of peoples of all different races, political beliefs, and sexual orientation.

The students are enthusiastic about the different sports on campus, but ECU is not part of a major conference and does not participate in the NCAA.

As an clinical laboratory science major I believe East Carolina will provide anybody with a quality education. East Carolina is full of spirit everywhere you go.

They are really good and convieniet. I like that they are touch screen.

It's fun, but it's hard work. If you're not willing to study then don't go into the nursing field.
College Sophomore 2012-12-06T17:12:54Z
Athletics at East Carolina University are huge. Campus is empty on football game days because everyone is at the game, whether it is cold and pouring rain, or we're having a heat wave. I've really enjoyed the gym and swimming pool. They have a gym entirely for non-athletes so that we don't have to leave for the varsity teams to use the facilities.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
