There are campus buses that will be at your service any time but it is hard to travel outside the campus if you do not have a car.

The internet signal is always pretty strong and the library has a lot of computers available for everyone to use. Its seldom times where you have to wait to use a public computer.

My major is Nutrition and I enjoy it. The classes are fun, the workload is manageable and the teachers are well-prepared. Most of the students have a wide range of experiences in the major and they offer their advise for the the real world. The internshis is long and difficult, but totally worth it.

I like the school bus system- it is well-organized. The campus is clean, the buildings are close to each other. There are many academic programs that this school offers and many activities on/off campus

There are a lot of apartments available. You just have to find the right one. The apartment I live in, off-campus, was great. It was quiet, the management was good, the rent was unbeatable, and the location towards campus was amazing. I have stayed in my apartment for 3 years.

As a graduate student, I received assistance in registering for classes. Taking the classes I wanted was not a problem. I enjoyed the lectures and the professors seems prepared.

I am at ECU studying nutrition. The graduate program is online, which allows me to work full time. The workload is manageable and the classess increase your knowledge in the field of study. I'd like for the school to offer scholarship available for both graduate and undergraduate students based on the GPA. I'd like for the program to offer more variety on class selection. I like that the classes during the internship can count towards the masters degree, but the process of winning the internship is difficult.

There is such a variation in the race and religion pool here at East Carolina. you will always meet someone from a different country or someone of a different belief. Even though we have a very large school at the same time there are so many different races and religions.

Guys & Girls:
Compared to other schools, the guys at ECU aren't as gentleman-like. The girls dress like sluts downtown. The relationships that start at ECU don't usually last after ECU.

The weather is always up and down. Carry and umbrella all the time! You never know when it will rain. It is extremely hot in the summers.

I don't understand why we have two Chik-fil-A's on campus. The food selections are okay, but poor compared to other schools. We don't have a whole lot to choose from.

ECU basically forces you to buy a parking pass. There is limited parking that is free. The parking that is free and off campus, is far away from classes.

The dorms get renovated all the time and they are kept clean.

ECU has a wonderful Marriage and Family Therapy master's program. It is competitive and recognized as being accredited with the national accreditation organization (AAMFT/COAMFTE). The class sizes are very small to ensure an enriched and focused learning experience as well as opportunities to develop rapport more easily with fellow students and professors.

Coming from Orlando, the options are far more affordable in Greenville. However, the options are not as nice. If you don't mind driving and having to park on campus, there are great options in Winterville, especially if you are a graduate student looking for less-student-house-like communities. Sunchase is a great option for those who don't mind student communities. The shuttle service runs through there as well as several other communities between there and campus.

It costs a lot of money to park around campus. Most spaces are inconvenient for drivers and the walk can be long. Freshmen get the worst parking because on game weekends they have to move their cars to make room for game day visitors.

There is free printing in many locations and there are a large amount of computers all over campus. There is not good WiFi everywhere, like in dorm rooms. For those you have to have an eithernet cable that plugs into the wall. The speed is average. It has moments where it will freeze or the server will be down, but the school usually sends an email a day or two before.

Restaurants in Greenville are average. Most are cheap and hit the spot. There are not many upscale restaurants though and that can be bad. My favorite place to eat is a burger place called Cubbies. It has the best burgers in town and the atmosphere is a warm and inviting one. The prices are reasonable for a tight college budget as well. Plus, it's only a five minute walk from campus.

Most students (especially freshman) cannot get a close parking space to classes on the main campus, but transportation provided by the university for the students is convenient and provides for the main campus as well as most of the popular off-campus residencies. I belive that that is encouraged. As upper-classmen you can get parking permits to park closer to campus but still may need to catch a bus for the rest of the way. I wouldn't take a chance parking in other areas without a permit because you may get towed.

The school offers excellent academic programs for the students and a lot of club or leadership activities to participate in. I think it does its best to ensure convenience for the students from transportation to media/technology. There are so many options available for students to study whatever they want and possibly where they want at the same time. I believe this is what makes it so unique.

ECU campus life is excellent. There are so many activities to get involved in from extracurricular to sports. Throughout the year the school hosts a variety of social activities for the students also. The area is known for its numerous eating places so you can find just about anything you want. Gameday is always big and the students take great pride in their mascot.

ECU is known for its party life. Generally there a lot of house parties starting around mid-week through the weekend as well as downtown night life. Generally, you may be able to find some party any day of the week but more during the weekend.

We have a ton of off-campus student apartment complexes, so the fact that ECU caters a bus to nearly every single one is awesome. It really does save so much money on gas, plus parking on campus is not only expensive but also extremely limited. The buses are incredibly convenient and run M-F 7am-11pm and then a "drunk bus" runs 11pm-3am Thurs-Sat.

I really enjoy my advisor and the attention I get as a student of many in the College of Human Ecology, but there are some parts of my curriculum that I wish were a little less cookie-cutter. My concentration is Events Coordination, and since my major is Hospitality Management, all of my classes are specialized towards conventions, weddings, banquets, etc. However, with a degree in Events, I want to deal with things in nightlife and music production, not Hospitality. I wish there was more flexibility in the curriculum to broaden my horizons.
College Senior 2012-10-04T22:44:25Z
Everything from apartment parties to house parties. Greek life isn't as big here as at other schools but it's still got a good following. Our bars and clubs are practically attached to campus and are all 18+ so there's plenty to do any weekend.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
