Local Grocery Stores – Local grocery stores have healthy foods at affordable prices.

March 1St Scholarship Application – Since I do not qualify for any grants but am living off campus, my debt is piling up quick. My grades are in great standing and I will be applying for a scholarship made available to ECU students with a GPA of at 3.25 on March 1st.

Buses Are Effecient – The best way to and from campus would be the bus since Greenville is a smaller city and traffic tends to be more congested.

Great Location – In my opinion, East Carolina University is great because it is major university located in a smaller city. This gives it that college town feel which i think works well with academics especially during the week which is an opportune time for me to study.

Although I had excellent grades in high school, I did not decide to come to ECU until February of my senior year, making it too late to earn any merit scholarships (which I would have received). Even after maintaining a 4.0 GPA in my first semester, I have had difficulty in finding scholarship money. Most merit scholarships I have seen do not usually apply until second semester Sophomore year (45 credit hours).

Not Too Bad – Drinking is pretty prevalent, but it mainly exists in off-campus areas and downtown Greenville. Occasionally I will see people smoking walking to and from class, but there are good building smoking policies preventing smoking indoors.

The process is easy because they send you emails saying how much you receive each semester and load it to your higher one card. If you have a question about financial aid however, the cashier's office are usually rude when talking to you as a student.

Housing Fit for Students – Student housing off campus is good because it provides all the amenities a college student needs and also has transportation to main campus an =d back. However, it is expensive. Regular off-campus housing is much cheaper, but not as safe and convenient.

Student Atmosphere – Greenville is definitely a college town. The community loves ECU and most certainly shows their support. There are MANY clubs and restaurants. The shopping is not the greatest but is fair.

Campus Atmosphere – Living on campus is very pleasing experience to have had. All of the campus activities are very convient to attend, but with the large size of the college that I attend it is hard to make it to everything that you want to do. The overall atmosphere of living on campus is great. You are able to meet lots of fun and interesting people and really be involved with everything that happens.

Strict but Fair – As long as you are doing what you should be doing, this won't be a problem. Drinking underage in the dorms is pretty much offlimits, and drug use is not tolerated at all... thankfully. I'd rather not have to worry about my dorm mates getting drunk or stoned.

Diversity isn't all that great at ECU. There are people of all races and elasticities, but the majority of people are white. Still, at the same time the campus seems very open and accepting of everybody regardless of race or ethnicity.

Not Enough – I do not want to do loans, so getting financial aid has proven difficult. Scholarships aren't advertised, so you need to do your own research.

Sociology Major – I haven't been in the program for very long, so I can't give it top marks just yet. The department is not in a good location on campus. The teachers are very interesting and helpful. I think it is a pretty good program. The workload is not terrible.

Process Has Been Great – I have received a fair amount of financial aid and the process has always gone smoothly. Keep your GPA up and it helps a lot with the scholarships awards.

Floods a Lot – It rains a lot here. The dorms will get flooded quickly if you are on the bottom. It's not fun having to get to class in the rain when your dorm is a far from class.

Guys & Girls:
Guys Are Cute – There are all sort of guys at ECU: smart, funny, party goers and most of all cute. The girls are easygoing, into greek life, and dresses very casual(pajamas for class). There is a great mixture of different cultures.

There are plenty of computers and computer laboratories on campus. They are a pretty good size and fast when it comes to working on them. Each computer lab has about 20 t0 50 computers and 2 to 3 printers. Every time you use a computer, you have to login and input a username and a password for security purposes. I am very happy with the whole computer system at ECU.

As a high school senior (last year), I received a lot of help from my counselors. They were the ones who told me how to apply, where to apply, who to talk to, etc, regarding scholarship money. If it weren't for them I would of not gotten as much money as I did. This year, however, I have nobody to help me out with this. Therefore, my dad and I are trying to find scholarships anywhere on the internet. Hopefully our efforts will be awarded.

There is a large variety of sororities and fraternities at ECU. There are always parties or other events going on in and out of Greek Life houses. Personally, I would not like to be involved in a sorority because I think I might not be able to manage both greek life and student life at the same time, but most students at ECU love it.

Health & Safety:
Personally, I really like the ECU campus because it is not too big but not too small either. This makes getting to class way easier and quicker. ECU is right by downtown Greenville and most people believe that is not safe. There is a very high crime rate in downtown Greenville, which makes ECU not too safe.

Great School – Had a couple of issues being in the military but once I found the right people to talk to everything worked out great. Enjoying my classes and look forward to graduating.

I visited a sandwich shop right outside of campus a couple of months ago and it was awesome...I can't remember the name. It was ECU themed and in a strip mall near a Stein Mart. The prices were solid, gave a student/military discount FOOD WAS GREAT!

Pretty Good – Parking is very expensive. We have different parking lots, the closer you get the more money you have to put in. If you are running late to class, dont have a pass, and decide to park in an area in which you need a pass to park you more than likely to get a ticket but its not too bad.

Ummm Sure Its Fun When Your Drunk – Nightlife is something that if you never experienced it you didn't miss out. People get so wasted they cant even walk down the street not to mention that its in the ghetto.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
