Library, Student Rec Center, and Mendenhall Student Center
To start, Joyner Library is huge. There's tons of computers, private study rooms that you can reserve (you'll want to reserve one around finals/midterms if you're someone that needs some private, distraction-free space to study), and obviously tons of books. The Pirate Tutoring Center is also located in the library. They're open 6:30-9:30 Monday-Thursday, and there's also some daytime hours depending on the subject as well. The library is open until 2AM on weekdays and I believe midnight on the weekends. It's open 24 hours during finals.
The student rec center is the main gym at ECU. There's maybe 8 basketball courts, volleyball/badminton nets, a rock climbing wall, a track, tons of exercising equipment (treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, etc.). There's also a weight room. The rec is open until 10 or 11:00 at night most days and opens fairly early as well. The rec center is close to West End (a neighborhood at ECU). If you live on College Hill (a different neighborhood) it's a good 15 or 16 minute walk to get to the rec, however there's another small gym that's located on the hill if you don't want to go that far. There's also a shuttle that comes every 10-15 minutes that takes you right to the gym! The gym is free for all ECU students, and you can bring a guest for 5 dollars for the day.
Mendenhall Student Center has a lot of rooms where clubs meet. There's also a bowling alley downstairs (it's extremely cheap- only 25 cents per game and I think 75 cents to rent shoes!!) as well as pool tables and other things in the billiards room. Mendenhall also has a movie theater room where they show a different movie every couple weeks or so. It's usually movies that just recently left theaters, and they show it multiple times (usually on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at different times).
